Re:OP (too lazy to quote) Bah, that was weak game. The fact that it worked on you means that he was a)exceptionally lucky or b) exceptionally perceptive. But my money's on option a. Instead of "I know you..." for the direct approach, he should have gone with "You're too real... you feel like an open book, even though that's just the surface--you're like a book/painting/whatever that has hidden depth. Have you ever seen something painted by X?" And pulled you into his interests by comparing you to them. That way you a)get a feel for what he likes right off the bat, b)are turned on by the fact that he's controlling the interaction without being insulting or over-the-top, but also not catering to you, but setting you up to prove yourself to him; a c)gives you something to talk about besides "U r hot, wanna squish nasties?" d) He gave you a compliment that's unique and expands your mind. And it's very easy to transition this opener to, say, The Story of O, or any art involving bondage. Much slicker that way. You can call this opener lame if you want, but it's field-tested. Try it out yourself, guys. I've got natural down, I won't miss this one... it's of a style called a 'cold read', if you're familiar with those things. D
