Ok no offence but can you or someone else link me to places with your pic?

As we all know how easy it is to save as and upload a picture.

<laughing> Its him....I spoke with him regarding a mutual acquaintance of years past when he first joined the site a few months ago.

best regards,

Damn, see, now if I really had this site down cold I would have read this before replying to the original poster. [shaking head] It's gonna take time [smile]

Welcome to the board's. I've read your book, liked it. Although I don't assume I know you because I've read the book. So to me you are like anyone else here.
I do look forward to getting to know you better.

Good to see you here. Your work is one of the hallmarks of lifestyle literature and essential to any lifestyle library.

I've enjoyed your work but found it in places to feel too mainstream, more technical and focused on the needs of the submissive.

Have I misread you or do you feel that BDSM ought to be centered around the pleasure of the submissive? In what ways does making your submissive do things she doesn't enjoy for the sake of service play into your philosophy? Is it sadism at all if the dominant strives at all times to satisfy the submissive rather then purely focus on selfish pleasure?

What rights to selfish satisfaction does a dominant have in your view? If consent to ownership or domination implies consent to service of the dominants needs how does that reconcile with BDSM techniques that revolve around the intensification of the submissives pleasure and experience?

Is it unfair to characterize your work as assuming that the dominants pleasure lies inside the mastery of technique and the giving of pain and that the submissive is essentially a facilitator for those events/activities/expressions?

I nearly forgot. What was your take on Baldwins "Slavecraft"?

Angry.

Oh absolutely I just wasn't sure I had mischaracterised your work or not. I can assume I have not? I would love to hear your comments on the other questions above?

Angry.

Why no link on your site to purchase your book?

Welcome to the asylum Mr Warren... please don't feed the inmates, some of them bite. [;)]

Seriously, I look forward to seeing you post here and engaging in the various discussions. I admit I haven't read your book yet, its presently buried somewhere in my "too be read pile" which I've been trying to catch up on this week.

krazysubbiekat -> RE: Another wise man in our midst, Mr. John Warren (8/12/2005 6:45:56 PM)

I just wanted to drop a quick note here to tell you how excited I am to have the chance to pick your brain. Your book, "The Loving Dominant," was one of the required reading books that I was directed to when I was first exploring this lifestyle. It went a long way toward explaining and clarifying some of my questions and fears. I have always wanted a chance to thank you for that, and now I have it. Thank you for sharing your outlook with others, and giving us a chance to learn from it.

Am I gushing?? I'm gushing aren't I??? Somebody stop me!

Really? You mean there were other wise men here before Mr. Warren dropped in?

For years I've been lurking on the ssbb newsgroup and have enjoyed reading his posts there. So, it's nice to see him sharing his ideas here too. Welcome.

sarbonn -> RE: Another wise man in our midst, Mr. John Warren (8/12/2005 9:13:54 PM)

Wow, SSBB is still around?

Hey, John. Good to see you again. Starting to see a lot of the old familiar faces here. No, I don't know who I am either.

Elegant -> RE: Another wise man in our midst, Mr. John Warren (8/12/2005 9:25:54 PM)

We don't have any events on the schedule at all except next year's LLC in Manhattan. Now that I no longer vend, we have had to become more selective about our travel.

That reminds me, I've gotta clean up the list on the website. It is SO out of date.

The newsgroup soc.subculture.bondage-bdsm is still around, but it's lost a lot of its old energy. Too damned many political arguments by fanatics. There are enough old farts there to keep me reading it, but only with an active killfile

[/tongue in cheek on] When someone is gushing, I usually just put a towel under her. [/tongue in cheek off]

Seriously, thank you

If you are who you say you are I must admit you seem rather intelligent on the topic and not a set basis.

Im basing it on this though.

Imtempting,
I had the same issue with him. You know you just can't believe all you see until you know for sure. Only a fool does that.
Anyway, I got his e-mail address that he did not provide here and e-mailed him asking him if he knew of collarme, etc, etc.
Yes, it is him. I am happy to see I am not the only one who just believes without checking someone out first.

If you want....I believe I can send mail here just not receive it. Say so in the thread and I'll provide you with links to Mr. John Warren that are not here. I'm sure he will respond promptly to you as he did me.

You have got to be kidding me!!!

What the hell difference does it make to you if it is really him or not? An imposter John Warren would be revealed in time (probably pretty quickly, given how public he has been), and no one, except perhaps the real John Warren, would be any worse for wear.

That strikes me as kinda psycho...

Strike it as anything you want. That I want to know who I am dealing with before putting all of my trust in them. I know you and I are two totally different animals. After all you set up a verified website with only people you knew online and two who had past criminal abuse records.

Personally I'd take psycho.

Is that any worse than trusting someone who signs up on a site like "verified bdsm"?

Can you trust ANYONE on the net? "verified" or not?
