ORIGINAL: ChainsandFreedom does it strike anyone else as ironic, how quickly everyone jumps to condemn arrogence in others without at least acknowledging their own liability such a judgement creates? Thats my point. People try to snipe at one another on really basic, obvious grounds because they'd rather be 'right' than deal with any greater issue or just move on to something more salient. Obviously, this is the problem with public internet communication everywhere, I just think it helps to point it out every once in awhile. Are you for real?? LOL Let's break this down, shall we? Chains: For a month or two, I spent long sleepless hours (How dramatic...) writing and reading these forums. I knew it was arrogant, but I felt empowered to enlighten other people about short-sited or even factually incorrect views. (ah, so in one sentence you have revealed a sense of inflated ego and pronounced judgements and insulted people in one fell swoop, good job) Along the way, I even changed my opionion about a precious few (arrogance rearing its ugly head again) topics based on what others wrote. Then I got a new job and went away for awhile. (gee, were you missed? I never heard of you...) After my hiatus, (again, a highly ego driven word, usually hiatus refers to a career or life changing event, not taking a break from an internet kink forum, but perhaps your priorities are different than mine) I'm seeing alot of the same poster's writing the same things about the same topics. (really? and that would differ from how many other forums, as well as being untrue since many new people post every day) So I'm wondering...Are you frequent poster's just right ( right as in having their own opinion or right according to whether they agree with YOU?) all the time about everything you reply to, or are you learning new things about the topics you post about? I find it ironic that you would come "back" to the forums (as if by making this momentous announcement that was not arrogant enough) and then going on to say that you KNEW you were being arrogant and then pronouncing judgements on posters and whether they were right or refusing to learn anything. And then you have the nerve to say it is ironic that others have condemned you for waltzing in here with attitude. Sometimes it really pays to look in the mirror before opening your mouth, because you might be surprised at what comes back. I don't think anyone here is afraid to speak up when confronted with this type of hyocritical attitude. Wouldn't it have been far more productive to receive answers to your query by just saying, Hi, just returned to the forums, which I missed and wanted some thoughts. Have you ever changed your mind about anything you read here? I can guarantee you that you would have received better answers, but then again, you CHOSE to frame your question to put yourself in the light you wanted. And we replied in kind.
