ORIGINAL: LadySeraphina I'm having a lovely mottled brown leather corset made by Lace Embrace, but you're quite right, Alter Ego is much more inexpensive. My corset, in the style I chose, will run me $685. To me, it's entirely worth it for a handmade corset with steel boning from a Victorian corsetierre. But then, that's me, and I have the budget for it. LaceEmbrace.com Lady Seraphina Edited to point out that $685 is for a Custom leather corset, not off the rack. I would have to agree with LadySeraphina regarding the steel boning. It definitely makes a difference - especially in regards to comfortable and durability. I would also suggest going to a specialty shop and getting fitted for a corset, as opposed to just buying one off the internet - once again, the difference is visible. I can see where price tends to be a problem though. I prefer waist cinches as opposed to full corsets, but even those tend to run around $300...
