i have not missed the point, i see that you meant well through your awkwardness...who among us that has started a badly worded thread, throw the first stone.
i feel the same way about home circumsisions, actually all non concenting circumsisions.... ick.
and having read a number of first hand accounts of female circumscision or FGM, female genital mutialtion, as it is officially called, i totally agree about the woman being "ruined" as that the nerve bundles are removed, sexual pleasure is stripped away and in many cases the surgurgy is very painful, and after it heals still very painful which is (horrifically) the point.
. I cant concieve of a more cruel , misogyist, or sickly twisted powertrip torture...but organised religion's hatred of women, and desprate need for power, never ceases to surprise me...
this practice in aftrica, and the middle east is also here in small pockets of western culture and it is IMO horrific.
but i guess the key word is concenting....and in the case of many slaves, concent was granted and as crazy as that seems, they likly had their own reasons at at hat time for doing it, and it will be thier cross to bear, and part of what makes them them, for the rest of thier lives.
we all make choices, some of them are really really dumb....but if some one chooses to to be mutilated or in my case, to self mutilate, please dont judge, because you just never know the whole story.
again, just to clarify NON-concenting circumsisions are horrific.
