Dear PairofDimes, Ladies and Gentlemen; In the use of pain play, pain management and pain reassignment, there can be a change of technique which can add to the effectiveness of strokes. An illustrated version of what I have presented and or in written handouts when I do instructions on caning--to understand how techniques play a vital role in S&M you're welcome to read it on www.CANE-IAC.com At www.toybag.com there is a paddle called 'Safe word extractor.' These are for those pain pits that are deep. Single tails are painful and cause welts when the leather part (belly) and the braided and knotted cracker/popper meets the skin. I find a Tex-Mex quirt, modified with rawhide boot laces a much more painful application than single tails. It also permits a close in approach and those who have skills issues with single tails--this works much better and safer. A thin water base to the skin, applied before an application of tools and or hand works very well, as it amplifies the impact without having to amplify the effort. Stretching skin and then impact is another technique which is not often taught. But, if any understanding of drumming, the hide taunt will not allow flexibility or the nerves and blood fed veins to move aside from impact. I am not one for 'muscle through' a stroke. I much prefer speed. As we, in general; seen straws driven through the trunk of a massive oak during a hurricane; the speed in sending forward a stroke out performs sheer weight/muscle in the impact. Combination can tripple the affect/effect of strokes of an impliment. Hand grip plays an important part in either retarding the tool or allowing it to live and vibrate in the hand. Any impact, regardless to a 4x4 board or a living human being--all things vibrate. To death grip a tool or to use the index finger on the tool while holding, will retard the vibration. [Fully explained on The Art of Caning/Style of Caning on www.CANE-IAC.com's web site] A loose hand will also permit a recall of the tool if necessary. This 'recall' works on all impact tools. It is easily demonstrated by placing a piece of leather, rope, belt in a loose hand and gently hold then squeeze the hand shut tightly. The other end of the rope, held fast by a friend, your other hand, tied to a chair or drawer handle--the movement will be noticed. Even two fingers pinching a piece of leather--will recall the leather to the person pinching or gripping tight. If already in a death grip, the ability to recall is thrust purely on jerking back and ruin of the rythmn of the stroke. The sjambok is an African riot stick/club. It is hard rubber--it will/can/may break bones--that is what its designed to do; to disable the person in the riot who is out of control. Landing on joints and on the tailbone is extremely dangerous. Deep impact can also cause blood clots so that needs to be kept in mind. Wire coat hangers, known as a 'pimp paddle' work extremely well. One straightened out and then coated in tool dip which gives a rubbery grip with texture like stucko makes an interesting impact tool also. Automotive 'valve hose' covering wire is also another impact tool not often manufactured. Jewelry chain in strands and add until they splay badly and keep in the amount where the strands don't splay--makes a chain flail that can be rather nasty. I have used two strand bike chain for a flail also. Its difficult to use and used like a paddle. I recommend DeTail's chain flail also. Find an old leather glove for your spanking hand, which you can 'ruin' if you wish. Soak in warm water and it will add to the weight of your spank strokes without adding muscle behind it. Nylon makes a texture that is like a file. Making a flogger or paddle out of nylon like material which is used on military knives as a sheath; creates plenty of sensory fun. Dip in water, freeze and then use is wonderful. This method can work on metal canes, paddles, spatchulas, metal spoons as well. (Two serving spoons frozen then grip a breast or testicles...fun). Nylon floggers can be soaked in water and the weight of water in the nylon would increase impact ability without adding muscle behind it. Just make sure that nylon cloth for flogger is flexible dry or wet. Canvas can also work as well. Wet and soaked wool is heavy as well--especially for Sadists on a budget and make their own tools. Rubber auto flaps also work as paddles. Extremely heavy impact without needed weight behind it. Volvo mud flaps are little enough pre made to be a paddle. Cheese boards, cutting boards also make good paddles. Ping-pong paddles can work well also. The rubber on one side can give an interesting texture. Fish tank gravel in a thin zip lock bag or suran wrap and now days, press 'n seal; then lay on the target area and then impact with tool of choice--can give painful sensations and gives more application abilities for a tool one has. Knots in leather tails or strands work well. Place knots in different places so the flail/flogger/cat will hang straight and knots on knots won't bounce another tail off one another. Metal beads can be added but, do not use plastic or glass beads as they shatter. Make sure the beads are made solid, not two halves glued together. For those who have rope floggers, braiding the strands and adding hair beads is an option to turn a fluffy rope flogger into a cat and or flail. Again, all these things can cause injury and or injury leading to death. I caution strongly to any and all, to practice on items and never straight off on a human. Using a rubber balloon that is 7/8 inflated --if you break the balloon--its too much force. Please practice Sadism and masochism safely. Just some thoughts. Respectfully submitted for consideration, Lady Hugs
