You need to have some understanding/knowledge of what lies under the skin in the places you strike, especially if you are using heavy impact. Even more so with the evil, wicked sjambock, lol. I like using powerful strokes, so I gave away my sjambock. I had to restrain my swing too much. In the hands of a fool, it can have dire consequences. If on a budget and like a heavy thud, use a phonebook. It helps if the Top bears in mind the amount of force applied per square inch to the body. I always feel new toys on my skin to help me guage how much speed of force to use. Even when learning to use a whip, I felt it plenty, LOL....ears, back, arms, etc. Have fun, but be sensible & err on the side of safety. "If you break your toys, you can't play with them anymore."
