I never call him by his first name. I call him TC which is close for his real name..or something cutesy and affectionate.

sorry to derail the thread fox, but I gotta ask,

peppermint, what's with people spelling cuss words with astrics and dots and what not, it's still a cuss word it's not any less of a cuss word, it doesn't look out right better than saying asshole. so what purpose does *** and @@@'s and things have when cussing.

I call him Gary, or Sir, or Sweetheart, or A**hole....whichever is most appropriate for the situation.

Pardon my butting in but perhaps it's a means of communicating your meaning without actually being crude about it?

I've heard too many younger women swear like wharfies these days and frankly, I loathe how women are acting more like the fellas (and sometimes worse)!

So I'm a dinosaur who's attracted to the rapidly vanishing era of well-mannered feminine ladies and who appreciates women for their (diminishing) behavioural differences....  <shrugs>

that was her point...this is an adult forum...we can say words like asshole and fuck....

Since you've totally missed *my* point, there's probably no sense trying but here goes anyway....

Most wharfies do use words like "asshole and fuck".  You're saying we all *should*?

quote:

and putting an astrix in place of some of the letters does not make them any less of a cuss word....

Baloney - it's not about the cuss word but the user's chosen manner of expressing it.  To me it shows a measure of modesty in an age where feral female behaviour is evermore prevalent.

quote:

if she has a problem with saying them....don't say them...

Yes, black or white fits everyone - there are NEVER any grey areas of individual choice....

quote:

you are not going to get in trouble for spelling them all the way out

And still you think it's about the words, not the individual's preferred mode of expression?  <shrugs>

Since I've become my Sir's submissive my bad language has diminished greatly.  He doesn't swear much and doesn't find it appealing when I do.
Now, if we're talking about during "play time".... (I just had this conversation with Him.)  He has no problem with me using lots of naughty filthy words.  [:D]

Sabella -> RE: No Use of Title? (12/4/2007 7:27:25 AM)

First name & Baby, My Husband, Lover. He's never asked for a title so I've never used it (well there was that couple of times at band camp *swoons*).

Makes it interesting replying to PM's here [>:] If I don't call HIM Master/Sir/Lord/Whatevah I'm damn sure not gonna call anyone else that either. So when LordMasterSirGod PM's me I just call him "Hey you!" LOL

mhawk -> RE: No Use of Title? (12/4/2007 8:59:33 AM)

well for myself on this, in public i reffer to my Lord by His name and my Mistress(His wife) by Her name,on rare occasions at home as well. but for the most part when we are home i reffer to Him as my Lord and i reffer to her as Mistress.

they do the saem for me in public, call me by my name,at home occasionally by my name but most of the time at home it's slave.

sweetestnettles -> RE: No Use of Title? (12/4/2007 7:20:36 PM)

He has always been  'Daddy', straight from the beginning. There are times when he's feeling down and I call him 'baby' when I try to comfort him, and very very rarely I will call him Sir, most often in writing or when he has asked me "Do you understand?" etc in a very stern, sexy voice [:D]  The only time I use his first name is when we're arguing/ serious situation when I don't feel a term of endearment is entirely appropriate lol. And of course, he is known by his first name to my friends and family. I really must get out of the habit of calling him Daddy around others; given our age difference, I fear people may actually believe he's my father and have some severe misgivings when he kisses me or smacks my arse playfully.

Yes, and that's the way *I* did put it.  You do seem keen to push the envelope here - don't be shy....

Lol, and I swear a lot less around the girl - don't like to set a bad example, don'tcha know.... [:-]

But I'm the opposite to your boss at "play time" - she really needs to mind what she says then! [;)]

Well, you can throw me into the "dinosaur" classification also if you wish.  I, personally, don't tolerate profanity in my presence.  I believe in manners and class and expect it from anyone escorting me.

If I am at a public gathering where women and men are throwing around profanities, I simply get up and leave.  It isn't my place to correct them, but, I don't have to sit and listen to it.  I just wish women would act and speak more like ladies... and men would act and speak more like gentlemen.... I know... I guess it's just my own fantasy world.  But, those in my service and generally those in my company adhere to it.

Bethnai -> RE: No Use of Title? (12/5/2007 3:24:07 PM)

I, too, would use Master and Owner because I did not think it was appropriate to showcase who he was while I was posting. However, I normally called him by his name.

beltainefaerie -> RE: No Use of Title? (12/5/2007 6:22:41 PM)

I call him Master or by his first name, depending on the situation.  In front of family and when speaking in a regular life fashion, I use his first name.  With friends it varies. Our friends are aware of our relationship and are well used to hearing me say, "Thank you, Master" or whatnot.  I feel like he is my Master 24/7, in that he could always give me a direction and I would obey, but we have times where we are more "in scene", whether that is in an actual scene or just doing housework and hanging out.  Basically, whenever it feels appropriate to call him Master I do, and whenever it would seem contived, I don't.  It is really about what feels natural in a given situation.  I think it is the appropriate respect of speech that is more important in our relationship than the titls or honorifics.
Incidentally, he also refers to me alternately as bel and by my given name.  Either feels natural and I appreciate that bel is his pet name for me.
