I have to agree that disappearing subs make me sad. It's hard enough to meet people in the first place, so when you do meet a nice sub and have a good date or a fulfilling scene and then *poof* he/she is gone. . .it's very disappointing. On the other hand, I suspect sometimes subs have the same problems with Dommes, so we can't really pin this one on the subbies. My BIGGEST pet peeve about subs, male of female, is a lack of self esteem. I've even coined an acronym: SWOSE - Submissive WithOut Self Esteem. These are the submissives who want to submit because they desperately need someone's approval. They are so eager to please, so willing to do anything if You, Mistress, will just pay attention to them! Often, they don't even care who You are, as long as you are someone willing to validate them. I alternate between feeling sorry for them and being extremely annoyed by their pitiful attempts to get attention. Obviously, not all subs have this problem, but I think most of us on these boards have encountered the ones who do so you probably know the sorts I'm talking about. Strangely enough, the wankers and the bedroom only submissives don't bother me. When I switch and play on the sub-side, I consider myself a bedroom submissive too. I'm pretty honest and up front about it, so maybe that's the difference, but there's no way in hell I'm a service submissive. Tie me to the bed and beat me? Sure. Clean your house? You must be joking! So as long as a sub is up front about their desire to only be submissive in the bedroom, it doesn't get stuck on my pet peeves list.
