Floyd vs Zeppelin, I'd have to go Floyd.

One distinctive contrast between the two is that Zeppelin was raw power.  Floyd was more thoughtful; you can feel the scuplting and effort that went into their work.  Between raw passion and sculpted beauty I have to go with the latter.

Floyd.  With Waters, mind you (not after, and god kill me if I ever have to hear Waters without the group.)

Zeppelin.

My favorite song by them is Kashmir.

Although it is close, and I am rather shocked that "Wish You Were Here" was not on the list of cool Pink Floyd songs.

Not even a question for me.  Pink Floyd all the way.

I don't care for Waters solo stuff too much.  I think he's at his best with a guitarist who will fight with creatively.  For a live show though, Waters gives a much more faithful presentation, even if the other guys wound up with the prop warehouses and the name.

Gotta go with Zeppelin. I respect Pink Floyd as musicians, but was never a big Floyd fan. A bit too mellow for Me. Don't get Me wrong, one has to respect greatness, and Pink Floyd is/was a great band. But I need more energy. And all the burn-outs back in school were into two bands...Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead. (Don't even get Me started on the Dead.) I was never a druggie, so it didn't work for Me. Gotta go with Zeppelin. They had their mellow moments too, but the energy was always there.            Energy, passion, power, dynamics...What more do you need?
Just curious...Am I wrong, or was there no mention of Aerosmith on this thread?

Zeppelin.

Pink Floyd were only handy for playing to the plants to make them more resiny.
