Ha! If the father's name was on the child's birth certificate, she really had no choice. Try and make sense of benefits claim forms in England and Wales. If you manage to avoid the CSA, then you'll have earned the right to call the mother a fucking cunt.

no different in the US I am one of those kinda guys (like him). No written agreement, just good people. They are separated, the child is fine, but I didn't go on the birth certificate. Ron

kittinSol Thanks for providing the link that answers my questions. http://www.guardian.co.uk/gayrights/story/0,,2221460,00.html Not being on top of British law, I now see how the entire process as to why this man has become responsible for paying child support. It is good that the mother first tried to get bennifits from her government and not go directly after the bio father for cash. As much as many of us may belive the donor has been screwed, the laws of sperm donation where made long before he made his contribution. He's a man who was thinking with the wrong head and didn't question nor reseached his government laws. Unfortunatly he fucked himself and he's not going to get out of it. One the other hand, the mother could be nice enough to give back atleast a portion of the child support payments under the table to the biological father. After all, there's no law that requires her to keep the money. How much of this child support is she going to really need to care for the kids?

I don't know about the UK, but here alot of it goes to the government to pay for the benefits.

I am advocating a very simple and straight forward legal method for establishing such a contract. This does not exist today and the legal precedences are very conveluted. On a final note, it sounds like this guy was a total idiot and you can't make laws to fix stupidity.

It used to be the same in the UK Laurell, but ahem I havent lived there for 20 years, but it used to be that the money goes straight to the government via the courts. The woman wouldnt see it. It may have changed. Personally I think the other partner should be on the hook, but its a hell of a mess and he shoulda covered his ass legally, I feel sorry for the guy rightly or wrongly, he got screwed and not in the fun way. Gay, lesbian, straight shouldnt be an issue... its an issue of donation and the ramifications, and should be covered by law. Maybe it will come after this mess I just hope the kids are gonna be ok Lucy
