We already got our inches here in NE Ohio. =) People have been griping about it like crazy, but I'm pretty blissful. Here's a few facts abut snow in the NE area of the country: the amount of snow we get here in our temperate wet climate has a DIRECT result on the water table. There is such a thing as winter drought, which after a while could end up with us paying outrageous prices for veggies in the summer. Snow functions as an insulator for many types of perennials during the winter, including spring-blooming bulbs. And because snow eventually melts, the moisture helps break down old dead vegetation and leaves, helping to create wonderful compost and rich loam. At least here in the NE, we need a certain amount of snow to sustain our ecology. So, hey, I'm all for it. Besides, it's pretty. =)
