i for one am constantly 'explaining' to my Master what pain does for me, in movement, reaction, noises (not always able to verbalise lol). Whenever W/we play He tempers His actions to my reactions... That is what makes a good Master in my opinion...being able to judge and bring the sub or slave to the place where they, the Master, feel and know their subject needs to be. You can only do that if the pain is being 'explained' in some way...

I'm not sure if all of this sarcasm is what your looking for In the post you wrote. But I know myself, find the need to explain to the Dominant I'm with what exactly it is that pain does to me & for me. Me being a masochist it's an extremely important part of play for me. Without explaining, how would my Dom know the level of intensity that I appreciate.... That mind numbing state of shock the body goes into while slipping into that surreal warm fuzzy feeling of subspace. I have been with Dom's who were Sadistic & knew how to inflict pain but couldn't push me over that threshold, for fear of harming me. That is when I realized, hmmm maybe I ought to let them in on my little secret, if this is going to be a Win Win situation ... Rest their minds at ease that I can take so much more. I found that many Dom's are afraid of doing real harm to their subs. Which is completely understandable. So to reiterate yes I like to explain to who I'm with what it does for me.There are some I've not had to tell, they just knew me so well, they could read me like a book.
