Sammie..... having grown up in the Rochester,NY area, and one who lived thru the great blizzards of 78 and 79, i can feel your frozen pain! I lived in the Chicago, IL area until 2003, and now reside in the wonderfully warm state of Arizona. It is only in the 60's for the next week or so, 40's at night.....and I'm still in a tank top and shorts! Anyway, my point is that winter in NY starts somewhere around Halloween....did my fair share of trick or treating in snow!......and last til about Memorial Day....lived thru a storm in May! It used to be you could plan on storms on the following times: Halloween, Thanksgiving, the whole month of December, New Year's Eve and day, February was iffy, and Saint Patty's day. There is a reason that Nature is called a Mother! I'm sending warm thoughts to all of you stuck in the cold......and, yes, we'll take some of the snow here....ship it to the northern part of arizona.....they actually ski up there! They didn't get much last winter, they already have several feet. As for me, if watching the storms on the Weather Channel is the closest I ever get to snow again, that is fine and dandy with me!
