wistfulmale -> RE: Why are so many male subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 6:00:31 AM)

Personally, and I've mentioned this to a few Fem Doms here, I am somewhat (note the "somewhat" there) thankful for the people that send one line emails/can't be bothered to read a profile...

That means that a well written, thought about, email after reading a profile has a better chance of gaining notice, and, ideally, receiving a response.

Of course the down side is that if people get overwhelmed by these short, pointless emails, they may just shut down all together, or start lumping responders into one large bucket. Which, of course, is something I don't want to see happen.

Now, for the caveat: Of course that's just my opinion. I may be wrong.

LOL- reminds me.  I just got an email from a guy asking if I'm into "casuka play". I thought it was some form of Japanese bondage. I even Googled it before I realized it was an especially F'd up typo.

I was disappointed. I wanted to know more about this intriguing new form of play I'd never heard of.

Rumtiger -> RE: Why are so many male subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 6:20:48 AM)

I cant even figure out what its a typo of.

Ah yes, the ancient art of "casuka play".

Involving sake, sushi, and submissive samurai.

No emotional involvement however, this is forbidden.

It works both ways. I get very few unsolicited memos (not whining, that's just how it is with male subs), but apart from the helpful and/or friendly ones the only approaches I get are instant offers of undying love in pidgin English from female subs, or bizarrely, submissive couples who are identical in height, weight, gender and every other detail. Who've you guessed it, not read my profile.

It's the simple typo of leaving out a space. The correct spelling is "Ca Suka."

It's play that causes the person on the receiving end to cry out, "Ca Suka!" which is the Japanese equivalent of "Cor Blimey!"

Did someone say sushi?

kubens -> RE: Why are so many male subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 9:17:11 AM)

These males are not illiterate, just desperate, so deperate that they ignore your "no males need apply" notice in a pathetic attempt to get someone-anyone to claim him.   Unfortunately they only thing they accomplish is to make some FemDoms less likely to post profiles.

MystressDream -> RE: Why are so many male subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 9:36:00 AM)

Face it... it's just people in general.  All sexes, ages, roles, etc.  That's why, for me, a well written email gets my attention.... as well as a well written profile.

But, if the emails bug you, set your filters and stop getting them.  Or, find a better way to meet people.

My biggest frustration lately is that I seem to be attracted to men who live so damn far away!!

Hmmmmm.... If only I could transport guys like Joshua to Denver... <sigh>

Oh, and sushi?   Where I come from we call that "bait".  <grin>

Oh no, no, no. C'mon now. It's really "Eureka!" Eureka play. Holy s**t, I hope that doesnt involve a tub.....[:'(]

Lashra -> RE: Why are so many male subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 10:04:56 AM)

They are desperate is what I think it boils down too. I have stated plainly in my profile if they are coming to town do not contact me, I am not someone's weekend entertainment. Yet they still contact me and I've gotten to the point where unless I recognize the name, I don't even read the emails anymore. I chalk it up to desperation.

LOL

Yeah your profile is great joshua.

It really is great. Shame you hardly ever see a great profile like that from a Dom. [;)]. Usually the ones who write me and say Great Profile Red! have zero profile or worse yet, a frightening one.

Stephann -> RE: Why are so many female subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 10:20:37 AM)

Here's the counter-question:

Why are so many female subs illiterate?  They often have profiles with a vague photo, their name, age, etc, and ten words or less in their profile.

Bah, internet dating sucks [;)]

Some are just scammers sitting in a boiler room. Others just want to waste your time. And there are the ones who just want any of your attention so they can wank away.

BondageSlaveMN -> RE: Why are so many male subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 11:19:00 AM)

I consider myself far from illiterate although I do have admittedly poor spelling and my lexicon is sparsely populated with words of more than a syllable or two. My sentence structure is defunct; I never seem to remember which clause to put where. My articulation is immaculate though, I eschew obfuscation at any and all junctures possible.

cloudboy -> RE: Why are so many male subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 12:21:43 PM)

That's easy: malesubs are just uneducated, "desperate," losers with poor judgment and disrespectful manners.

KindLadyGrey -> RE: Why are so many male subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 1:12:48 PM)

It is simply a matter of limited resources. There is only a certain amount of blood in the human body, and when a man has engaged that blood elsewhere it is not available for use by his brain and fingers.

Theoretically, one might be able to say that the more illiterate a man appears the larger his. . .

Ahhh, if only it were so ;)

SensibleSam -> RE: Why are so many male subs illiterate? (12/15/2007 1:39:05 PM)

You must realize that you get what you pay for. This site is free and has very loose membership criteria. Basically if you claim to be old enough you can set up an account. The natural consequence of this open access policy is that many people have false identities, and/or lie about themselves. Another consequence is that - not having much of an investment in the site - they don't bother to be careful in reading profiles.

I you like, I could create a matching site that had a literacy test for membership. That would keep you from being bothered by dummies. But at least two questions arise:
  1.  Would there be enough potential male subs who would qualify for membership?
  2.  Would you yourself qualify?
