A question that has come through my mind several times has been this.

Is pegging gay or straight?

For those that don't know.  Pegging is when a female places on a strap-on, and inserts it into a male.

Now to most this is instantly shut down as gay by many inside, and outside of the practice of BDSM.  Though here are some key argumentive points behind both sides.

Straight:
1) It's a female, and male only thing.  (Last time I checked that's considered straight)
2) It's a toy.  (It's just the same as placing on a tickler, or an extention on a penis, and inserting it into a female.)
3) It's a great way to "milk the prostate". (Which a full ejacuation should be done once every three or so days.  At a maximum of two weeks to avoid prostate cancer in later years.)
4) If you look at it through a D/s way.  If it's what your Mistress wants then it's what your Mistress gets. If you look at it through a vanilla way.  It's only equal rights to allow your partner to insert you, if they are allowing you to insert them.

Gay:
1) It's something being inserted into a male. (Most men can't accept this concept)
2) Most men consider a strap-on to be a dick, and not a toy. (... no idea what to say to that issue ...)

Well.  Most of the arguments towards the gay side tend to go in a cycle, and the conversations I have with people tend to look something like this.

Is pegging gay, or straight?
Gay.
Why?
'Cause your having a dick placed in you.
It's not a dick, it's a toy.
It's still something being placed in you.
Have you ever given anal to someone before?
Yes.
Then isn't it only fair for them to be able to do the same thing back?
No.
Why?
'Cause it's a dick.
And so are you.

I'm trying to obtain intellectual conversations based upon the subject to see just what people think about an undiffined subject such as this.

Status: offline 		IMO it is a gay act only if the participants are gay, it is a heterosexual act if the participants are hetero etc.Although 'act' isn't my word  of choice but I'm too sleepy to figure out what I really want to say lol.

Status: offline 		The only view I have on it is that if you are so insecure with your sexuality that you won't explore a source of pleasure because you think it's "gay" you aren't someone I need to be sleeping with.

It's a sex act. You might as well call going down on a girl gay because that is what lesbians do. Sometimes guys get off on girls putting vibs in the butts. So? It's a guy getting off on a girl doing things to his butt. It's not a guy getting off on a guy putting things in his butt.

Personally, the more intent people are about defining things as "gay" or "straight" the more I think they are in the closet themselves.

Status: offline 		It's an activity, not an orientation.  The fact that one participates in this activity doesn't make them any paticular orientation nor does it mean they are or are not dominant or submissive (another thing people post about on this topic).

Because a male enjoys anal sex or prostate manipulation that way does not make him homosexual and people that suggest it clearly are only afraid.

As Camille stated, it doesn't really matter what others think as long as the person doing the activity and their partner are ok with it.

Status: offline 		I concur with Camille and Aquatic Sub. It's only gay if you decide to think of it as gay. But more than that, it's just another type of sexual activity - no matter the orientation of the persons involved.

Status: offline 		I've given a strap on to a few guys, one was a friend who I would have loved to see take it from a guy, but alas, when I discuss this with men, it's that they love the fact that a woman is getting off on them this way, not JUST the act itself. Kind of "this time I'm the passive fucktoy!!" attitude. They almost always are willing to talk about it and all have told me they wouldn't take the pleasure from it if it were a guy. It's not about the act, it's about the exchange between the people it's happening with.

Status: offline 		I think the guy/girl = straight and guy/guy or girl/girl = gay argument is making it too black and white.  My personal view is that it's borderline somewhere between the two.  A strap-on is not a normal part of the female anatomy and it is representative of the male member.  But (no pun intended), a guy letting a girl do this to him doesn't mean he's going to run right out and get a guy to do him.  I think the straight/gay view comes from the general male self-image of being in control and being the one doing while the female is the receiver.  For the male to be the receiver is atypical (per general society) and is therefore viewed as being gay.

But I thought "gay" meant being with someone of the same sex.

Look at it another way.  Is the woman confused by her gender because she puts on a phallic toy?  After all, women don't have penises, now do they?  Of course she's not confused.  It's simply a means to an end.  If we can agree that she doesn't have gender issues, then we can also agree that it's the male involved doesn't have sexuality issues.

It'd be Gay if we replaced the woman involved with another man...and the strap-on with an actual penis.

Now, it it entirely possible that the women involved could be having gender issues while the male involved is having sexuality issues?  Of course!  Likely? 

No.

No, that would be a sexual act between two members of the same sex, and gay only if they were only attracted to one another, bi in any other context.

Status: offline 		The quick version: Being gay is being sexually attracted to men. A woman with a strap on is not a man.

The longer, more specific version: Being gay is being of male gender and being attracted to male gender. A male gendered, female sexed person with a strap is a male person. A female gendered, female sexed person with a strap-on is not a male gendered person. From your question, it's the latter that is being discussed.

The act does not make you gay or straight. The sexual attraction does.

I don't place gay or straight with the use of a strap-on, however I have placed it on my "to do" list   (hence the search continues for a female playmate)
