I'm sorry, but to say "if you have any doubts at all, then we won't meet. Prove to me you trust me by meeting at my house" sounds insane to me. He is then getting you to prove you are trusting by going along with his false dichotomy. He is basically saying "my way or the highway." And it is dangerous. You live in NYC--if you really want to play the first time, go to Paddles. I'd never do it because of my job, but, you'd be safe there--they have monitors there. You won't be dead and you will be able to stop it. If you go ahead with this (which I really hope you don't ), make sure also that you aren't tied up the first time. If he wants to restrain you, let him use thread and punish you if you break the thread. Or hold nickels against the wall, or whatever. But, in my opinion, going to his home isn't safe, but it is even more dangerous to be helpless.
