I like "Miss."

Generally though, I leave it to the sub to eventually decide what they want to call me, honestly.

I know a domme who likes to be referred to as "D" during scenes. It's the first letter of her name. I kind of like the concept.

My slave is instructed to call me Miss Rayne or Ma'am...But then again speaking isnt always allowed either.

I, too, have never liked the term "Mistress".   It's been used so much, that it sounds like a cliche to Me.

I have always instructed a potential boy to address Me as "Miss _______" (My first name).    I'm not the stuffy, high-protocol type -- casual and easy-going is Me. If a boy has had strict training in his past, and feels compelled to use a formal title, then I have him address Me as "Goddess", or as "Goddess _______".    I also like "M'Lady", or "My Lady". "Ma'am" works for Me, too.

My collared boy -- saberwolf34 -- is also My significant other, so we are in vanilla mode quite a bit.   In those times, he calls Me by regular ol' affectionate terms, and I'm fine with that. He knows when it is appropriate to call Me Ma'am, or Goddess.   But if he slips up, and calls Me "hun", or "baby" while we are in the Dungeon, he knows that his butt is gonna get reddened.   ~~ I wonder if he does that on purpose.....? Naaahhhhhhh...... ~~

My suggestion to you is the same as the others -- try different names/titles, until you find the one that feels "right" to you.

Names have occasionally been a sticky point for me as well. Mistress and Ma'am alone could be anybody, and hold little resonance for me. My girl occasionally calls me her "North", which has the unfortunate (and perhaps intended) effect of making me all soft and squishy and quickly slips me into a gentler frame of mind than normal.

A few years ago I was playing with another top (an *excellent* way for me to explore the differences between bottoming and submitting) and when it was "my turn", I made him call me "Little Girl", since that's what he'd called me when I bottomed for him the first time. Apparently he thought it was a bitchy thing to do, whereas I thought it was a hoot. :D

Currently when I play with submissives other than my girl, I have them address me as "Miss" and then my name. Sometimes my first name, sometimes my last, depending on the dynamic.

I agree that MasterFireMaam's suggestion about the thesaurus is an excellent one. Someone else made the suggestion of having your submissive say the different options out loud which also sounds like a banner idea -- some things sound like honey rolling off one tongue and vinegar from another.

Anyhoo -- it'll be interesting to hear what you end up deciding on.

I am uncomfortable when being addressed as Goddess, way too mythological to My taste lol

I like Maam, Madam and Miss and also Mistress.

I like the initial idea that sleuthingsub mentioned above, adds to the mystery and the a more personal/unique approach.

Again, everyone is being really helpful. We're playing around with Lady, Maitresse (french form of mistress.. im a Foreign Language major), and Love. I'll let you guys know what it ends up as. Thanks again!!

I like the idea of using your first name, in a very respectful manner. Keeps it personal. If you like, add "Miss" in front of it.

I'm a big fan of "She Who Must be Obeyed", but it is tough to have him spit it out in a scene!
