I just like to begin the convos and then lurk, but once I think I'm out, you keep bringing me back in.

Rob

Wow, that sounds familiar.

i normally do not respond to forums with anything that might be construed as inflamatory. i am a firm believer that if you can't say anything nice...Keep your mouth shut! However, to this i have to say something. i have a high school diploma and some college and i am gainfully employed fully capable of supporting myself and my family in a reasonably comfortable manner. To imply that without a college degree, a woman is somehow lesser than one who does have one is entirely prejudiced. i personally consider myself an intelligent, well-spoken, capable person, and my lack of a college diploma does not change that.

Just my two cents...that and 4 years of college might make me change my mind! lol

krazysubbiekat

i never said a woman with a high school diploma was worth less as a person than a woman with a college degree. i myself have a college degree in sociology -- which means i spent about 4 years skinny dipping, going to parties, etc.

what i said was the economy young people today face is much more difficult than the one i faced in the '70's. i said the ecomony had begun shrinking and that it was shifting towards a service base -- meaning labor which may not pay as well. Job security is becoming a thing of the past; and no one can feel their employer is loyal to them in big companies like Enron.

So, my point was, a college degree may have not a whit to do with a person's attractiveness or worth or dignity, but it will help them compete in a more hostile economy.

I guess I should have specified formal education in this too. I do not feel that formal education is a big thing...I mean personally if some girl with glasses and a book under her shoulder came to me (unless she had the whole schoolgirl get up ::wink::) I wouldn't think that we had too much in common. But I do prefer someone that has a wealth of knowledge, as I stated before. To me thats the type of person that can carry on a conversation about pretty much anything and interest you. And when I say match wits, I also mean just "hold their own." This post didnt really add to the discussion, as I just like to start them, you guys are the ones that keep them going.

I am confused on how I was thrown in with college degree smart...Never did I say I prefer someone with a degree or anything, I just made mention of the fact...I know many people that are intelligent and all they have is street smarts...so please stop insinuating that I prefer book smart people. So stop referring to me, I just like to begin the convos and then lurk, but once I think I'm out, you keep bringing me back in.

Rob, You are the f**king Op who started this thread. Of course people are going to reply to You...that's how the boards work. You "just want to start" topics and then "lurk" without being "brought back in". That is just not how the boards work. If You do not want to "be brought in"; try not posting and just read.

IronBear -> RE: Intelligence is key? (8/20/2005 5:16:49 AM)

Was reading this thread a couple of times and it seem that most people have responded with their own opinions as they what they find attractive. This is how it should be except that some even appeared to “attack” other for differing in opinion (that is my take of the general drift). Personally I strangely enough do have a wide selection of friends about this country called Aussie as well as many scattered over the globe including those who live in the US. They also differ widely in their social standing as well as their educational levels. I do know that each one has endeared them selves to me for many reasons and I find each one’s company attractive. I guess that we all will find attractive those with whom we feel most comfortable. Again each to his/her own.

My sentiments precisely pink. Again you have hit the nail on the head.

I wasn't being sincere.

The enemies of LROD may have found the best way to discourage me from posting: make me explain it all.

Lord, in my opinion, don't bother to explain,,,as they read more, possibly they will figure it out on their own after reading threads for a while. If not, oh well.......we told you before, the majority do not want LROD to go away!! [:D][:D]

krazysubbiekat -> RE: Intelligence is key? (8/20/2005 1:59:07 PM)

pinkpleasures, i appologize. i am a little sensitive to this subject as a i am a service industry employed person. Many people, both in and out of this lifestyle, seem to assume, because of my lack of a college education, that i am not as intelligent/capable/secure as someone who does have one. As a result, i may have vented unfairly on here and on you. i appologize.

LRODANDMASTER -> RE: Intelligence is key? (8/20/2005 2:03:14 PM)

WOW SHE CALLED ME LORD AND NOW I WON 50 DOLLARS BECUZ I HAD A BET WITH JIMMY AT THE BOWELING ALLEY THAT I COLUD MAKE A DOMMAY CALL ME LROD

Thanks. (Why is it always only the well-mannered who rise to the occassion and apologise when approprate?)

ksk; i already posted on another thread my anger at the way people treated me before and after law school. Nothing had change about Me but after law school i was somehow worth being treated with dignity. i despise poeple who engage in "class-ism".

But you see, I want my topics to be brought up and nobody is. If I could find a way to get my topics of interest brought up without having to be replied to, I would. So until you figure out how I can do that, I would rather you not comment on that part ;-) (Note the sarcasm, don't take it in offense)

pink you really are a treat. I enjoy readig your posts for some how they match with my views more often than not. I must ask one question though <plants tongue firmly in my cheek> Does your comment I've quoted mean that if I call you a "Classy" lady (which would be complementry although I could do a "Boggy" ad call you a "classy broard" or "Classy dame" < chuckles and winks>) you would dispise me? I'm always an incorrigible, irrepressible and irreverent Grizzly Bear.

Sir; nothing You could dream up to call me (apart from cursing at me) would offend me, coming from You. i love Your posts and find You to be a wise Dominant.

p.s. Other members addressing me as a "lady" do so at T/their own peril, ROFL.

NakedOnMyChain -> RE: Intelligence is key? (8/21/2005 6:55:29 AM)

Yes. And I don't particularly care if you only want a yes or no, you're getting a description. [;)] Where I'm concerned, intelligence is the most important attribute in finding anyone (play partners, life partners, even friends). I can't stomach idiotic people (I mean the type of people that have the potential bear themselves with intelligence and choose not to. If someone genuinely cannot be more intelligent than they seem, I'm always kind to them). I will not take people that are wasting themselves into the very selective circle of my peers. That said, lots of people that are commonly thought to be unintelligent can often surprise you. To coin a phrase, don't judge a book by its cover.

OscarHargraves -> RE: Intelligence is key? (8/21/2005 7:37:13 AM)

I enjoy being with an intelligent woman because when we're not playing I can enjoy her too. Like others here I find the mental aspects of being a Dom to be a major turn-on so I want to have an intelligent Sub to work with and dominate. Anyone can play Dom to a fence post mentality. That just isn't any fun for me.
