I used to have a nice corset, Id love to have another one but for now its a bit out of my budget...sigh...

Just adding agreements regarding men and corsets, purrrrrr, but then Im a big fan of anyone in a corset, I have several now, but more bustiers, merry widows, and boned teddies....need more corsets!!

I have found that I can get silk at my local fabric store at a reasonable price (keep an eye on sales and get it for less than $10 a yard) but the only place I have ever found coutil is online and boy is it pricey!

Personaly I use what they used in period ( Elizabethan and up since they made corsets) which is fustian. It is a combo of Linen, and Cotton with a brushed almost mini courdoroy look to it. It is soft, sturdy, it breathes, and it is not as pricey as the other fabrics. This is what I use in mine, or if a customer has no prefferance.
