Status: offline 		I have to go for "POVERTY: A THING OF THE PAST ". It just breaks my heart to see people with even less money then me also stuggling to get ends to meet.

You, obviously, have a very different opinion of ants than i do.  You don't want to know how many ants i killed this past summer.  Of course, i only kill the ones in the kitchen.  The "free ants" that live in the yard are safe from me and my ant spray.
 
Thanks for the responses, so far.  Thanks, Level, for the compliment.  i thought it could be interesting and timely.  i always wonder what the first headline of the new year will be.

This is a sad day for ant types everywhere but in me they have a friend and guardian oh yessss because where I see double sided tape on the floor I will remove it, where I see any spray I will dilute it. The ant people will rise and become unstoppable, you will rue the day you said that, rue I say and I don’t say rue often!

Status: offline 		Tough answer but I chose an end to war. If we do that imagine all of the extra money we will have to fight poverty and look for cures for terminal illnesses and so forth.

Don't care about life on Mars.......with my travel budget I'm not going there anytime soon.

Don't want to see Jesus come back, they would just tazer his ass and toss him in the nut house.

See on the face of it people think ending poverty is a good idea but they never think through the implications.

Status: offline 		i picked war is over. it was a toss up between that and poverty, but i think war being over would go a long way to solving the poverty issue, and maybe if we weren't so busy fighting over resources and getting tons and tons of everything, we could actually share and help with that, too. trickle down effect and all ;)

Status: offline 		You know, that wouldn't be a bad headline.  After all, if that were the main news event of the day, then it would have to mean that there was nothing more serious going on in the world to report on.  That's a nice thought, actually.  No tsunamis, no car bombs going off, no refugees fleeing a war zone.  Thanks for the suggestion.  Oh, but, your second choice would be more news worthy.

Status: offline 		I'm with LaTigresse.  The money saved from ending wars could do all sorts of good for our country, especially ending poverty and eradicating diseases.  But since this is in the Other Random Stupidity category, I don't see it as wise to break from tradition!
