ORIGINAL: OsideGirl Actually, I think we're stronger because we get things done in spite of it. I know that the pain I go through is on the extreme end. Most guys that I know would whine the entire time if they had to go through it. I wish more people would celebrate menstruation. While I don't get any extreme pains or emotions from my period, I do have some issues with them. But a period is such a great sign of womanhood, of the female essence, of our bodies running in time with the moon, the earth, a way to measure who we are and how we are going. Fluids are full of energy and life and we recreate that possibility every month. When I hear people call it "the curse" or are so embarassed about it, I see it as a sad sign of being ashamed of one of the things that makes us female. I know not everyone needs to share my idealistic views on periods, but I wish at least that it would become a normal part of life, and not continued as some dark secret nasty thing to endure.
