that fact is that under Soviet occupied Poland, it was not just illegal to jam and overpower a legal braodcast.  The content of the Solidarity Broadcasts was illegal in any form.  You couldn't print up phamplets and hand them out.  You couldn't stand on a soapbox on a corner.  You could not set up a discussion meeting at a coffe shop.  The net didn't exist yet, but like in China, anti gov posting would have been illegal.  Actually you could do these things, but getting caught was a trip to jail, and tens of thousands of people (like your friend) risked a lot to spread the word.

No one is stopping you termin8r.  You can spread your warped Anti Jew and Anti American views all over the place.  No one is stopping you.  You are living is a delusional world.  You don't need to set up a pirate TV station to force people to listen to alternative views (well maybe YOU do, but that is based on the quality of your arguments).  You are free to tell the world the "truth" as you see it, no one is stopping you.  .

Oh termy, you have never shied away from your views before, why now?   What term would you use for someone who takes the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" as a serious book.  Give me a reasonably descriptive term and I will use it if you like.

Why don't you adress my point?  You can espouse your "XXXWhatever you wish to be refered toXXX" views in multiple formats.  You seem to be upset that you can't Force people to listen to your "views", even though your are free to distibute them in many places and media.  To even compare yourself to Solidarity is a fucking disgrace.  People who transmitted or distributed Solidarity material faced serious prision terms and persecution of thier families.  The only thing you face is being laughed at (behind your back I am sure) and ignored.

lucky, you are not qualified to speak about the Protocols unless you have read it, have you ?

I MEAN THAT. Who the fuck was it that talked you out of reading it ? And now that you haven't read it you have the audacity to bring it up like this ? To chide and deride me for reading it and seeing that there are indeed alot of truths in it.

I am not a Jew nor a Christian, but I have read some of the Bible and I respect the wisdom that is contained within.

Why can't others do that  ?

Go color.

Exactly why do you think I have not read it?  To compare it to the Christian Bible or any major religious text is utter nonsense.  There is no Wisdom in it.

Why don't you adress my point that no one is stopping you from promoting your "views"?  To pretend you are on par with Solidarity, people who risked thier lives for the freedom you have, is such bullshit.

I guess if I had a TV or paid attention to outdated, old world forms of media distribution then I would care.

think of it another way: Tightening the grip on digital TV is like suing people for sharing music - it works for a while but eventually blows up in your face. Responsiveness to TV advertising is down; movie viewer numbers are down; and judging from my friends in their 20s TV is the last thing they want to waste time on. They can tighten and regulate and sterilize all they want but eventually they'll be left with a product nobody with a brain would want and that's fine with me: leave TV to the drug addicts, the lazy, and the stupid. It keeps them out of the way of people who want to get shit done. Keep the jerk offs playing Call of Halo: Extreme Dirt Surfing 5 and that way there will be more lovely, lovely ladies to go around for those of us who have the fashion sense, manners, and cohones to step up. Survival of the fittest (minds).

Wait wait wait. I am not going back through this whole thing to find where I erred, but I do not compare myself, at least in any favorable sense to those who risked their freedom to get their idea out.

I am safe for now in the US, but everything I ever wrote here and on other forums is there forever. If they ever get a piece of shit like HR4230 passed I could be in alot of trouble, or at least a target.

I am not saying I have the balls like the group that made Radio Solidarity happen. Something I said may have been construed that way, and if I could I would edit it out. My risk is limited to getting kicked off of fora. For now, we still have relative freedom of speech in this country, but there are those who seek to change that. That type of people make my blood boil. As Hunky said, this country was founded by dissidents. It's just that I have alot of it to go around.

And actually maybe that is not quite true, remember there have been sedition trials in this country, and I am here to tell you that things are not quite what they seem. And that was a long time ago. Whatever happened to Marbury vs. Madison ?

Maybe it is all an illusion. Maybe it always has been.

I come from a very technically adept family. VERY technically adept.

Why bother using a pirated version of Windows when Ubuntu is both SUPERIOR *AND* Truly Free?

That's like stealing a pinto, when you can legally drive an audi.

Perhaps because I am not using a pirated version but an entirely new version which very few know about or have access to. It is an MS product, but let's just say, a re-worked and a far better version than anything MS would actually put out there as it has no bugs to need MS for. My operating system is superiour to Ubuntu.
