I pop into CM once, maybe twice a day. I check my mail (no one loves me lately...grin...),cruise into The Lobby for a bit to chat with friends old and new and peruse this Forum. I work from home and have the freedom to allocate my time as such as Master allows.

When in this Forum I read what might benefit me. I sometimes even make a post or two to questions and queries if I think I have a valid comment and if the topic is something that in which I may have some special knowledge. (OK, so every once in a while I also make a smart-ass comment just for sheer enjoyment.)

So many of the posts have threads by the same people, over and over and over. Be it the General BDSM Discussion, Ask A Master, Ask a submissive/slave, Bondage Gear and Apparel, etc…I see comments from these people. My goodness, such well rounded and all-encompassing expertise.

So I ask because I am a curious, inquisitive and somewhat nosey person:
1. How much time do you spend at CM?
2. Why?
3. Where do you find the time?????
4. Do you offer this type of advise in person to people in your local leather community?

Inquiring minds want to know.

1. How much time do you spend at CM? - Y'know, I'm not sure. Probably too much, but I'm not exactly "here" all of the time. I just leave my computer on all day, with the browser up, and sometimes that browser has collarme loaded, sometimes it doesn't.

2. Why? - It's entertainment. I have a number of bulletin boards that I rotate through. They're some of the only grownup contact I have on a regular basis right now.

3. Where do you find the time????? - I'm a stay at home mom with a small apartment. As I mentioned above, I leave the window open as I wander around attending to my daily chores. Once the unmentionable is fed, clean and entertained, and our place here is clean, I do end up with a lot of time on my hands. It's my own fault for being so efficient, I guess. Once we're in a house and the kid is older and we have more of a social circle and I have a job, I expect to have less time. I'm looking forward to it.

4. Do you offer this type of advise in person to people in your local leather community? - I don't have contact with the local community.

There are threads on this topic before if you wished to search.
I could go for the funny option and say - 'too much'...

But then, I dont believe I do visit too much.

I pop in and comment on all types of things. It takes me moments to type and little to think because I only respond to what I am familiar with. Besides, the forum - and ones like this are always populated by the same people - they come - they stay - then they go. Its always a cycle. Thats what occurs on forums - BDSM or otherwise.

Peace and Love

*Edit to add -
I guess I should respond to specific questions.

1. How much time do you spend at CM?
2. Why?
3. Where do you find the time?????
4. Do you offer this type of advise in person to people in your local leather community?

1. See above
2. Because I am allowed
3. It just occurs
4. No - because there isnt what is known as a 'Leather Community' - its just a group of people who share similar interests and one big interest, which is the expression of the individual. So - if you ask - do I share with people offline as well - then the answer is of course. Thats called communication.

And I have searched and found some but:
1: Wide search field
2. People come and go and those that newly arrive don't always post on past topics.
3. It's not illegal or immoral or fattening to ask again

I guess I should have qualified the 'Leather Community' aspect. Kink/Fetish/Whatever Community.

Thanks for you answers!

Hi Elegant,

Nice new picture, BTW!

2. Why?
3. Where do you find the time?????
4. Do you offer this type of advise in person to people in your local leather community?

1. I pop in several times a day. Sometimes I spend a few minutes, other times longer, depending on how much a run my mouth.

2. I like talking to other people. I like reading what others have to say (for the most part) and enjoy posting my own views.

3. I'm lucky enough to have a job that affords me unlimited net access and a few bits of free time. I don't smoke or drink coffee, so I figure I spend time online where others would be taking those breaks.

4. I do, if people ask my opinion. In this forum, we all just assume we're being asked our opinions. Ok, so sometimes I give my opinion without being asked in person, too. At least I'm honest. LOL

I look forward to seeing you for your step-down speech. *hugs*

1. I run a company and all day I have to deal with numbers and financial data. When I need a distraction I go to the CM site. CM is up in a window most of the day. beth may also log in periodically, mostly first thing in the morning as she's making our coffee.

2. It's a distraction, entertaining. It's an "on-line" magazine and sometimes soap opera.

3. In the cushions of my chair.

4. We are very active locally, meet people all the time, entertain at our home, and attend club functions. We talk with everyone, exchange ideas, observe, and are observed. If someone takes how we live or what we say as advise that's up to them.

1. Too much time. Probably about ten hours a week.

I come here constantly during the day because I cannot stand waiting for a computer to finish a task. I have tried flogging them and lecturing them and verbally humiliating them but they just respond with varying degrees of task bars and sliders in this pathetic supplication that never seems to satisfy.

Yet paradoxically I don’t think this is a good place to come to ask questions about what I should or should not do with human beings. Weird huh?

1. How much time do you spend at CM? A good few hours a day, at least

2. Why? It's fun and I like seeing the drama that unfolds in some of the threads

3. Where do you find the time????? I currently lack a life away from the computer, though that's sure to change once I move (16 hours and counting!), get a job, and interact with my new roomie's friends.

4. Do you offer this type of advice in person to people in your local leather community? I don't offer advice most of the time. I post my own experiences and generally stick to the more light-hearted threads unless I'm feeling particularly thoughtful.

You knew at least one of the questions had to get a "wise-ass" response. How else would you know it was me? And "Evil Merc" wants me to remind you - Folsom Fringe - ONE month from today! (THANKS AGAIN BTW!)

Depends on the day. Sometimes hardly none. While other's a lot more.
Why? Because my dom orders me to view the message boards as my daily newspaper.

I sit at a desk a good period of time each day. Near a computer. While other days I am nowhere near a desk.
Yes, I run a BDSM group. Monthly munches, discussion groups and quarterly parties.
Generally in person people take people more seriously.

Life and death is not entertainment usually.

1)an average of an hour a day
2)it is fun
3)time management is always a matter of choices
4)I never have thought of it as giving advice. I do go to our local munch's and talk with others there also.

1. I have collarme open in one of the tabs on my browser(mozilla). When I'm bored I'll read through the topics and maybe respond here and there.

2. I think it's enjoyable. It's also helped me formulate my opinions on things I never thought about. Listening to other people's opinions has opened up my own perspective.

3. I'm a college student. So...between procrastinating doing housework and doing homework.

4. Not really, I don't offer that much advice on here. My main purpose in being here is more to learn than to instruct.

1.) I used to spend a lot of time here but find the questions becoming somewhat repetitive lately so I've backed off. Even so, I still check the new posts to see if there's something interesting. Many times, I write a post just to get the idea out of my head but delete it without posting. I've heard others do this as well...sort of like therapy I guess.

2.) Collarme is my window to this lifestyle and somewhat my current social world as well. I live in a third world country (Washington, DC) and ironically, have a lot of trouble meeting people who are actually Americans. My immediate area is 50% Hispanic immigrants, 30% Asian immigrants, and the rest a mix of African Americans, Jews, Mormons, and other ethnic/religious groups I have nothing in common with. No, I'm not prejudice.

3.) I have too much time (see #2).

4.) The local leather community is all gay men. The Black Rose is predominantly male Dominants.

Even though I live in a major metropolitan area, the odds of me meeting someone compatible is slim to zero; hence, Collarme...which is really not much better since everyone I'm attracted to lives on the other side of the world from me and don't want to start anything long distance (and Dommes don't read submissive male profiles for the most part so that's not doing me much good either). Not being negative...just factual.
