Status: offline 		For the most part, I find that women tend to be more about Domination on an intellectual level, Rather than a sexual one. Why is that?

it's MY only answer.

Females are emotional and males are physical.

How is intellectual different from sexual? Sex starts in the mind.

Status: offline 		I knew a Domme who was upset becasue potential male subs seemed more humg up on the PHYSICAL aspects of the relationship rather than the EMOTIONAL. Is that an accurate break down of the 2 aspects?

I agree with saret that Intellectual is not seperate from Sexual.

Regardless of the definition, there is some truth to the stereotype that men and women view D/s differently. And of course like every stereotype there are a bunch of exceptions.

For example, a RL couple I new were comprised of a Femdom and a malesub. He was the most authentic emotionally submissive sub I ever met. He cared all about service and pleasing his wife/Domme. It carried into their 'nilla life as well, were he was known as thoughtful, kind, and polite but never other than masculine.

To answer why your research finds it different, I don't know it could be luck or the places you are looking.

I hope it's all right if I take your words saret -- which I totally agree with BTW -- and spin them just a bit...

To be in control of the body without touching the mind ... I guess it's theoretically possible. It just doesn't seem that fulfilling, at least from my point of view. Any other opinions on this?

Status: offline 		since I'm a virgin... I believe that D/s is more about sensual/emotional/intellectual... those three need to have a "unholy trinity" in any good D/s relationship...

people who put sexual above all else... are automatic write offs in My mind

Status: offline 		How many books have been written about this difference between men and women? A trillion? It's a well studied theory that women intellectualize sex more than men.

I learned there is a hormone relased during sex, not orgasm - just sex, in the woman that is the same hormone that is realsed during breastfeeding. This hormone, apparetnly, fosters the bond between mother and child. Adult men don't feel it, of course, and women do, which would explain why women feel so attached to their sex partner even after just one romp.

doesn't seem fulfilling? define it then please. what is fulfilling to you may not be the same as anyone else. indeed someone else may find it worthwhile. like, maybe, someone not interested in emotional and only wants the physical. your view is your right. just know there are those unlike you. and this is my opinion of it.

OMG, then...I must be a MAN!!!!!

My pleasures are derived from the phsycial interactions with my guys. Sure there's some emotional attachment, or I wouldn't be with them. I'm purely there to enjoy!

I've always said that I enjoy the S&M over D/s, with an emphasis on the physical over the mental. I'm not into TPE, except to satisfy my sadistic pleasures.

What I've discovered is that most men I've had contact with are actually more into the mental aspect, over the physical.

Just goes to show that generalizing doesn't work well all the time. :)

While my own enjoyment is on the physcial pleasures, that can only happen with at least some type of connection to that person, whether it be a friend or a lover. I'd be wasting my time if I didn't care for my partner (or was attached somewhat emotionally), and it surely would be a waste of his time, if he didn't care for me. (Not talking about casual play party scenes though, as they can be fun with strangers...sometimes.)

If there's absolutely no emotion...what's the point of being together?
