I just bought a nice light flogger from a website recommended by a friend, now I am looking for some heavier ones without breaking the bank... any suggestions??

I make custom floggers, designed to your needs, and generally they are around $100 to $130 or so. PITA features will cost extra, but not much.

Newest thing is the Swivel Floggers, made so that the tail moves independantly of the handle, allowing for more motion without wearing down your wrist, and the fall is interchangable without tools.

My button is below.

This is true. I found a light 24" flogger short handle but long falls...My sub likes it and says it's got a great sting. guess what? Ebay 7 bucks. I like it and enjoy using it. So to all that want inexpensive but fun toys..try Ebay. even if you're not on a budget.....you can find great deals

Or you could get crafty and make them yourself that way you KNOW what you are getting and you can make them however you want makes for a great personal touch

That's how I got started. Now they seem to be somwhat popular with the local community, although I give away more than I sell.

I started making floggers for myself, then for friends, then startd selling them at fetish fairs until I realized that making them was no longer a hobby more like hard work and taking me away from other interests I had. I gave away all the remaining stock I had and now only make them for myself and for close friends.

I can personally recommend Mastersleather they do all my stuff... resonable pricing.. always willing to work with you on custom and price... and the work is top rate.. I've used other floggers from time to time... but my favorites are theirs and so I go back to them time and time again.

Im going to be honest here.. Ive got a few off ebay..and for the most part with leather work you get what you pay for.. you really dont know the difference until you have worked with a perfectly balanced flogger made for your hand size and weighted right.. For occasional play it probably doesnt matter but when you have been working a body over for a long period of time on a regular basis you WILL notice the difference. Your strained shoulder, sore wrist, heavy forearm and the twinges in your lower back will let you know....its worth it to invest your money wisely .... I wont spend 2 or 3 hundred on a flogger I am not a my toy is bigger and cost more than your toy person but I do want quality and I am willing to pay resonably for it. Infact, one of my floggers is listed on the masterleathers site as one of their better *custom* pieces I have had that baby for going on four years now and it a beautiful as the day I got it. But I take care of them, clean and treat them and rotate them.

There's a lot to be said for using a toy that you made yourself. I personally won't use a flogger that somebody else made. However, even if you don't have the 'do it yourself' mentality, having a flogger that you made with your own hands will give you a much better appreciation for the work and skill that goes into making the good ones. And besides, once you have the tools and the knowhow, 50$ worth of materials can build a damned nice flogger. A lot nicer than anything you can buy for 50$. Just start out with reasonable expectaions. You won't build that perfectly balanced 5 pound monster flogger with the 32 plait braided handle and 5 pass 6 bight pinapple knots your first time around. Everybody has to start at the bottom of the learning curve.

There are some great resources out there for people wanting to learn to build their own toys. Yeah, it's fairly simple stuff. No fancy knotwork and simple designs that probably don't balance all that well, but we all have to start somewhere. Check out Sartan's site, and the Frugal Domme.

I teach people to build floggers all the time. People ask me if I'm afraid that it'll hurt my sales, and my answer is the people who know more about floggers are the only ones that will pony up 2 bills plus for my work.
