Doms, you ever scare a girl?

Status: offline 		Doms- especially men- have you ever been so dominant that you scared a girl away?

I have heard girls talk about Doms that scared them. Not because they actually did anything, but just because they were very dominant.

I guess I have been scared off my one potential Dom in my life. He didn't do anything bad either. He just sounded too intimdating somehow over the phone.

How many subs got scared away by a Dom? How about by a Domme?

As for myself...no, I've scared a few girls, but never scared them away.

Status: offline 		I have had both men and women go poof before meeting.  I don't think I scare them.  I think they are scared because I am real and they are scared of the reality.  Hopefully that makes some sense.

Status: offline 		I have had my share of poofs and dead ends.

Without trying to polish my own horn and blow one off, I have had a few people tell me that I come as intimidating because of my intellect and that they didn't feel good enough. I personally find that to be pretty funny because I never really pictured myself as intimidating or exceptionally smart.

Personally, I try not to put too much abstract thought into speculations as to why people might be scared off or disappear on me. I would wager a good bit of money that everyone has their fair share as well. In the end, when I find a profile that I feel compelled to send a message to, I am simply just being me and don't feel any need to change my writing style or reduce my vocabulary.

Status: offline 		I was scared off by one Dom that seemed very intimidating  to me I was just new at the time so really had no idea what to expect anyway ,  I then had a short term relationship with another Dom that was great I had a good experience so had some confidence at that point,  the original Dom that scared me off  contacted me again, I gave him a chance because I figured it was just me,  he toned things down after I explained to him that I  felt very initimidated by him, the first couple of months had went fine, then he started becoming gradually more aggressive...saying he expected me to feel intimidated and off balance not knowing what to expect next and it went downhill  .... let's just say I should have just followed my initial gut instinct and avoided him

Status: offline 		I have been told that my profile was so intimidating that it scared her off from making first contact. I have also been called intimidating in person (and I'm a whopping 5' 8"). Once, when I was fully in the proper headspace (which I don't often do in public, for these very reasons), I saw a girl literally cower. Another time, I had a neighbor say that I looked like I had "just killed someone". I think it is safe to say I have scared off a few, but not intentionally.

Edited to add: Though the most endearing one by far is when someone I was exchanging messages with told me that she didn't want to call me because she was "afraid of disappointing me" (she is very phone shy).

Status: offline 		I think if I weren't a bit afraid of a man, I wouldn't be attracted to him.  For me, passion is that place where fear meets lust.

I have also been scared in a bad way by someone who did not respect my limits.

I also have a friend who I'm thinking diferently about as I see darker and darker things about him and how that darkness seems to be ruling his life.  Not as a darkness that gets expressed in an apropriate time and place in BDSM, but a darkness that he is drowning in.  It scares me and makes me sad for him, but also makes me a bit afraid to be touched in any way by that darkness, afraid to even try to be his friend, lest I end up on the wrong side of it.  So that may be scaring me away even as a friend.

Status: offline 		I have been scared that maybe I could not live up to their standards and was scared I would fail. Fear isn't always a bad thing, it can be a great motivator. When I felt this way I would just be that much more adamant about succeeding.

People don't scare me because they are "very dominant", because frankly, I find that a pretty difficult phrase to categorize.  What exactly does that mean?

People scare me who seemingly have no soul, you can see it in their eyes.

People scare me who give me a vibe that I cannot trust them.

Others annoy me who push too hard, but that doesn't scare me.

Status: offline 		I've not ever had a potential tell me they felt scared because I was too dominant. I've been accused of not being a dominant because I was too respectful and courteous. I guess she was just too used to most online "doms", eh oh well I took the compliment and moved on.
