I agree with TallDark

I'm not afraid of backlash from someone viewing my pic, having my home phone # etc, even address.

I've been like this for years(disclosed) and nothing has happened in a negative way from online.  I guess a person feels less powerful when you do disclose and ruins all of their stalking-fun.

Thats completely your decision. I understand the reasons not to, trust me. I was stalked for a year from an abusive asshole who wanted me six feet under. For a long time I did not post a pic. If others don't like it....who are they to you? one less aggervation, or at least thats how it sounds to me. If someone really wants to get to know you a pic won't matter. Then once you feel comfortable with a particular person then you might, you might not. Don't let people put you down because your careful about where your face is seen. Trust your instincts and have a good time.

I am a public figure, and getting public-er.  I think Taggard/TallDarkAndWitty is 100% correct.  What's the big deal?  My parents have known for a gazillion years, my siblings know, my former gf's know, some of my friends and colleagues know.  No one has ever given me a bad time about it, wanted to stop talking with me, wanted to stop working with me.  As I've posted before, throughout my life most of my Platonic friends have been women, so it's not as though the ladies get weirded out because I'm kinky.

If *you* act as though it's something shameful and bad, people will think there is something shameful and bad about it.  If *you* act as though it's no big whoop, nobody else is going to care for very long.

I think you should ask yourself very hard whether you are comfortable with yourself yet.  You don't seem that way to me.

Edited to add: this is directed to the OP, not jesiul.

I think it really depends on what one does - if you were, say, an elementary school teacher it would probably be a very big deal.  I used to do social work and worked with kids so I was a lot more private than I am now even...that was 10 years ago though so things may have changed.
