OMG, there are many causes to migraines, and for each migraine, there may be man causes.  If you are perhaps light sensative, as in with Irlene Syndrome, which effects 10% of the nation, filtered colored lenses in blues, browns or grays may be effective.  For others it is hormonal, and once hormones reduce in levels as with age, the migraines susbside.  For others it is food related, ie do not eat yeast, cafine or anything that contains these items, also peanuts are considered a trigger as are food colorings and preservatives.  Typical treatments forr migraines include high blood preasure meds, no matter what your blood preasure reads and ainti seazure medications.  Yeah team, added with barbituates and viocodine, it makes a very happy teen.  Other methods to consider if the above has not worked, is bio feed back, acupucture and accupreasure.  But if in the midst of a headache, and you lie down, have a rolled towel under your neck, tilting your head back, if you can be slightly angled with a soft pillow under your shoulders it can help with acupreasure, add ice under feet and hands, as this will slow the preasure in your head.  As a daily thing eat a baked potatoe with cayene pepper, and before bed soak your feet in a hot tub for fifteen minutes.  Well, thats is what i learned after spending almost 200k in medical bills, hope some of it helps.  Currently diet, and bio feedback, with tinted lenses have kept the headaches at bay and under control for the last 18 mos, which is much better than it has ever been before.

i've had migranes for 45 years now...anxiously awaiting menopause...just to get some relief...about 20 years ago the only thing out there was caffergot ...a consentrated caffein dose...and when you couldn't keep that down...along came the suppositories...a godsend...cuz you didn't hurl up any meds...then thru the years along came the immetrix...works for me...and stay the freek away from chocolate sad to say and red wine...oh and orgasm a lot...helps the blood flow out of the brain area...smiles twist

Won't help for tonight, but regular chiropractic and/or massage therapy could do wonders to prevent/reduce ongoing pain.  And I second (third? fourth?) the sinus rinse - I prefer the NeilMed system over a neti pot just because I am not very coordinated, but it makes a huge difference in keeping your head clear.

I completely agree with this but check your chiropractor out really well, as an after thought when your neck is out it can also cause sinus issues, most Drs and even neurologists wont send you to a back cracker they just want you to take pills and that wont fix the issues,  I have been there

as soon as it starts, this slave starts ingesting home-baked edibles made with home-made cannabis butter.  this serves two purposes---it staves off the nausea and vomiting, and induces sleep.  upon waking, if this slave is still in the throes of the migraine, she repeats the process, this time supplementing with vaporized cannabis.

as a migraine sufferer for 30 years who is allergic to aspirin, and who's pain and other discomforts increase with the application of toxic pharmaceutical remedies, cannabis is a God-send, and the most effective, least toxic way for this slave to manage her migraines.

p.s. it grows in the backyard pretty cheap, too.
