Dear everyone,

Call this a social experiment so just remember this thread isn't about me but YOUR thoughts on the subject.

Your thoughts on marijuana...be it if you smoke, if you support its legality or of course if you don't.

That being said Im a supporter and have a huge problem that you can drink yourself to death in a night and your perfectly allowed to do so yet if vaporized or eaten there isn't a longterm or short term physical problems with it.

This thread will get pulled, but I'll answer anyway.
Love it and partake on occasion in the late evening when all is quiet in the world.
I'm infamous for toking and then watching stupid movies that make me giggle.
I'm a happy stoner.
I'm all for legalization.

angelique510 -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 10:27:35 AM)

Myself, I haven't smoked for years, but I am for legalization. It is a very useful herb, especialy for migraines, nausea, and insomnia. If used responsibly, I don't see a problem with it.

Pulled? Ah I figured as long as it wasn't a bump when high sort of thing. S'about the politics, I can't understand something that was once legal in america for as soon as the 1960's and only legalized to give the president something to focus america's attention on. I mean how does one illelize a plant, a very natural thing of nature, is anything else as controlled? Do we burn down other kinds of natural creations.

MissHarlet -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 10:28:56 AM)

Im the hypocrite .. I know BDSM is illegal .. and I partake .. but until marijuana is legal .. Im against its use .. once it is .. Im ok with it ... I dont Have to make sense Im <wink> Dominant .

Aileen1968 -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 10:30:36 AM)

I agree completely.  The fact that it's illegal is completely ridiculous.
I used it as my pain relief when I had disc problems in my neck.
I never had to fill any kind of pain med prescriptions.

popeye1250 -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 10:32:54 AM)

This is just another thing "the govt" needs to stay out of.
Hard drugs should be illegal but natural things like mj should be left alone.

Action -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 10:34:57 AM)

Well said my man well said. Heh I wonder if there is a 420 bdsm club online. I know I'd be all for it.

Aileen,
It shouldn't get pulled in CA and the other places where it is legal w/prescription; albeit not at the Federal level.

Another good blank in the Senator Obama campaign. He not only smoked and inhaled but, based upon his book, he lined and snorted. Perhaps when the CEO of the country comes from that background the hypocrisy will ebb. I doubt it though. The drug industry, AMA, and law enforcement industry would fight it tooth and nail.

And since the thread most likely will be pulled anyway; there is always consideration to the ...
"But what about the message we'd be giving the children!"

...argument from the child worshiping sect.

denying people a safe, therapeutic, inexpensive medication is inhumane, vindictive and wrong.

Shawn1066 -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 10:40:38 AM)

I'm against it.  I don't like being around it.  I see no decent reason why it should be legalized.  All it does is hurt people's judgement, and in my mother's case, lead her to be abusive and get to harder drugs.  Also, she spent all her money on that rather than stuff we actually needed when I was a kid, you know, like electricity.

Yeah, I take the issue kind of personally.

That being said, I don't necessarily judge people who use it, as long as they have the common courtesy to know I don't want any part of it.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 10:40:53 AM)

I personally would have nothing romantically or more than casual aquantince, to do with people who did drugs  of any kind, be it dope or coke or crack cocain. It's not something or someone  I'd want in my life.  Maybe if they had a valid prescription for it, and needed it for honest to god pain and disability then that might change.

MadameDahlia -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 10:42:29 AM)

I don't smoke. Don't do drugs. Won't touch a drop of the spirits. But I'm in full support of legalizing the use of marijuana.

I think it should be grown safely, taxed and sold in stores. As with alcohol, I think one should be of a certain age or higher to purchase it. If a relative buys some, brings it home and allows for someone a little under the age limit to try it... that's between the parent and kid. The only reason I feel an age limit should be imposed is that it is a controlled substance, and it does affect the brain. If you try studying for a test while you're high... you'd better take the test that way too. Or you're not likely to remember anything you read.

I agree with the original poster. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that people can get drunk each and every night, causing long-term damage to themselves... and potentially to other people, in a variety of ways. But marijuana, far less detrimental, is subjected to intense scrutiny before being banned.

nohalo -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 11:28:45 AM)

I like it.
I partake on occasion.
I think it should be legalized, but honestly don't see how it can ever happen (outside of what's been done so far...and see how that's working??)

sweetwenchie -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 11:31:37 AM)

ummmmm let me take a few bong hits while i think of a good response [:)]

I smoke stuff!

I drink stuff!

I shoot at stuff.

We need more Stuff!

Action -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 11:41:35 AM)

Why is it I can think of two big companies that could make a fortune off it and the kind of companies in america that need that kind of boost.

Pharmacudicals, as much as I hate them is loosing alot of money and is pushing pills, Herb is already grown by them, how has that not boosed it past this stigma and into our over the counter use.

Also tabacco companies are loosing thier hold in countries like the UK where every pack is covered in TABACO KILLS YOU AND OTHERS, as well as kicking it down so that smokers have to smoke outside bars now.

How has this not created a gap for marijuana?

So you would be willing to get on an airliner if you knew that both the pilot and copilot were going to be passing joints between each other all through the flight? If you aren't willing to do so then just maybe you do see a short term problem and maybe you should reconsider your position.

DominorSomnium -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 12:28:21 PM)

it should legal, grown by regulated companies and taxed.
one of the reasons I say this is because hemp is also criminal here in the US. while hemp and MJ are in the same family, they are vastly different. you would have to smoke an entire field of hemp to even get remotely buzzed. Hemp can be used for many things we rely on oil for now. just my 2 cents.

mnottertail -> RE: Your stance on.. (1/8/2008 12:32:43 PM)

Hemp is coming closer to legalization again, there are farmers in NorthDakota that have permits to grow it, it would be a much more useful plant than corn for ethanol.

But funnie itself should be legalized.  Absinthe finally has been, after a hundred years.
