So I like to help push people in the right direction by offering what information I can and one of my favorite informational websites to reffer people to is castlerealm however it hasn't been loading anything but what seems to be a placeholder  screen for some time. I was wondering if anyone knew as to if it was undergoing maintenence or what might be wrong?

It's been down for quite a while.  Do a collarchat search and you'll find some discussions and a link to some archives.

Castlerealm is gone and not coming back. There's a whole discussion about that if you do a search for the topic on forums. I know that this sucks.

send them here. its better information anyway because you get to see different opinions. castlerelm had a very narrow view of the lifestyle and if you didnt live it their way you were not twue and weal. we all got to be twue and weal.

and some of us aren't so glad but, hey it's one person's opinion over another's right?

There are plenty of good sites not just one!

I, too, heard it was gone for good.

I think the company that makes the parts to fix the drawbridge over the moat went out of business.

I think the information here is really great compared to most sites but it would be really cool if they put a section in where people could write and submit articles about the lifestyle and then thing where people could comment on the articles kind of like a public blog in functionality.  About two years ago when I switched my relationship over to D/S and went compleatly into S&M I found this site to be more help than any of the others but you do have to be kind of hooked on the boards to get the info. I think if this site had a section catering to people just starting out and where to get general information not only would it lighten up the boards somewhat but would also bring a lot more curiouse people for us to argue with.

I really enjoyed CastleRealm.  Jade's biography made me cry, as reading it spoke to me and was the beginning of my realization to who and what I am.  After reading what she had to say... it all fell into place.  Jade's death was a real loss to many.

You can still get to many of their pages by entering on this URL, and then on next page by clicking on "go there" on each line.

Add to that fact that so many newbies were sent there first by someone and then read CR cover like it was some sort of bdsm online manual. Those views became rather ubiquitous. I won't miss it.

Ma'am.
LOL
Of course, others will feel differently but....to me...that site was such a sappy place that it was unrealistic...more like the fantasy that everyone wants and not the reality that they get. I did not like the way they overdid the romantic side and failed to show how it COULD go wrong.

Only my opinion but I felt that Castlerealm did more damage than good...of course, there are many who felt differently lol, as you can see if you do a search...there was a thread not long ago about the site.
