Clearly, the answer varies with the individual submissive. Some tough it out until their bottoms are bruised and swollen, others like just enough to get hot.

I don't think there's a definitive answer to your question.

Status: offline 		however, talking to the "bottom" about his or her likes and dislikes with spanking and then checking in with the "bottom" during the spanking.  after an inital spanking session or three, you'll probably get a feel for what he or she can take..and how much he or she WANTS to take. 

like's been mentioned, some like it HEAVY and like a very bruised ass...others just like a lil erotic spanking to get the juices flowing....and sometimes....  the "bottom" may like it one way one day....and another way on a different day.

I do not tell the Man when to stop.  My body and its responses tell him when I am reaching the point of distress.

I would assume that if this is my submissive, I would know how much is acceptable. However, if it were just a play date, I would listen to his body. I don't think that beyond pink is too much. A nice glow of warmth to do something else is a great indicator too <s>
