That's interesting, I never knew that, I would have thought brandings were permenant because od scaring. I've learned something, ty. :).

Yeah. Mine faded after a couple of years. For a while it was a slightly more glossy area of skin than what was around it. Now it's completely gone. It was a messed up relationship and a messed up time in my life, but I really wanted something permanent to remember it all by - good and bad alike. Guess I should have gotten a tattoo.

Absolutely not, I agree, why go through all that pain (Im presuming it hurts) for someone who'll dump in a year or what ever.

I liked the thought..  but as with tattoo's ... i don't want my girl to be 'branded" for ever and make her life possible difficult.
There is always a chance you might divorce/split.  Lol imagine you get a girl with a whole list of brandings on her body ;)
The thought is beautifull though.

As a tattoo lover I have two tattoos that represent past loves in my life.  One represents the mother of my children which I plan to have their representations added to.  The other represents another past love that I had.  Saya and I are presently discussing what her representation will be.  I currently have four tattoos each represents a part of my life that I wish to remember.

As far as branding we have discussed the possibility of it.  I personally have not seen any brandings that look beautiful enough to place on my Saya.
I think that either can be done with skill.  It all depends on the individual and how they feel towards the other.  As far as the length of time they should be together that would be up to them and not on a whim or fancy.

Namaste and greetings from India. I have been branded on my right inner thigh with my ex Masters initial. Even though we split up 7 yrs back and hence have not been collared the brand reminds me still of what i am.
Everytime i look at it it make me feel submissive too. I was branded after six months after i moved in with my then Master.

after i was owned for a while..i begged my former Owner to brand me. it did not happen. did this have anything to do with me leaving Him? i would say no...it did not. i am thankful that He chose not to brand me. branding is something that is permanent..in the back of my mind...i knew that our relationship would not last for several reasons. i would have had a hard time in dealing with a mark my Him and then becoming Owned by another.

Perhaps you missed the part, moir, where many of us said that branding is not in fact permanent on everybody.

I brand Mine only when I am sure that I truly own them, the amount of time is irrelevant. The one I have now was permanently marked after 14 months, the one before her was with me 2 years and never earned the right to bear my brand, the one previous to that was marked after 2 years (for those who might be curious, the latter passed away)

A brand is a permanent mark, it does not come off, it is a symbol of true ownership, a lifetime of servitude to that Master and His Home. If there are any doubts, no matter how vague, then it should be withheld until such time as you can say "yes, he owns me, he owns me for life" and truly know that in your heart.

Branding a girl to your Home is not significant????
I strongly disagree. A collar may be removed if you release her, your brand cannot. So long as she lives she bears the mark of your Home, she bears some reflection to it.
No thanks, let them prove to me they are worthy of my brand and that their commitment to serving me is a lifelong one.

Not sure about Hot and cold brands,
My first, Nicole, was marked by a tattoo, the second, who will remain unnamed, was not marked at all; the third, aaminah, has the initials of the Home carved by scalpel high on of her left thigh, just below the hip.

For those of you who have branded ubs or have had branded subs. How long did you wait before you had them branded?

Do you think it is wise to brand someone right away or do you think it's a foolish thing for a Dominant to do when they barely know each other? Thanks

I had been with my owner for around seven and a half years when we finally did the branding.  We had been talking about it for probably three years and really waited until the time was just right.  I can't imagine what it hurts to wait more time than less for marks of ownership or physical body modifications - I've never understood peoples need to rush into them.  To me marks of ownership (including brands) are things that should be measured by years.

C~

Edited to add: In terms of longevity I've had the brand for two and a half years now and it is still all there, although it has faded a little bit (mainly in that its not so much a raised scar).  I expect that eventually it will fade, but we still have the iron in case he ever needs to re-apply it.

For my Gorean part branding is permanent...but marking can be of any type. Not sure if she means that.

I'm not sure what anyone means, Just, I understand the mental permanence of it to some people, but to flat out state that branding is permanent is simply not true, and anyone considering it should know that it may or may not be.  If we were in the Gorean forum with this one I'd shaddup about it, but we're not.

LOL.  Yes, Just, I know it's hard to believe I would shut up about anything, but if Goreans believe that branding is a permanent thing, then I'm not going to argue their ideas with them.  I'm not saying that's what they believe, because I don't run of that flavor, but I took that inference from your statement.

Physically, branding may or may not be permanent, depending on the person.

Cali
