For those of you who have branded ubs or have had branded subs. How long did you wait before you had them branded?

Do you think it is wise to brand someone right away or do you think it's a foolish thing for a Dominant to do when they barely know each other? Thanks

ksub4u -> RE: Branding (1/11/2008 5:21:04 AM)

In my NSHO on this, anyone who orders a branding or who accepts a branding w/o knowing the other partner well either has a screw loose or really really likes being branded and marking.

The guy who checked me out at Shoprite told me to go get a brand which I promptly ran out to do after I put the food in the fridge.
Should I have not done that???

Have I ever branded someone? No.
Do I think it is a wise thing to do? No.

Branding to me is such a permanent thing to do. Everyone knows that nothing last forever. Can you imagine how Tom Arnold feels right now? He has Rosie's face on his chest for all his future ladies to see. What a shame. In today's world where couples fall apart at the first sign of a tear, it is unwise to brand or mark any part of your body. You never know what the future holds or who in the future will be seeing the brand. There is nothing that can convince me to permanently mark or brand someone making them forever mine. Forever gets a whole lot longer when  you are branded for life.

Making sure that the food you brought doesn't spoil before any branding is a very wise choice. You did good!

Aileen,
To do anything else would not have been a very subbly thing to do. You did the right thing. Always, always do as told! [:D]

my ex has my name on his arm.  he got it done when miss satan was 2 (she's 25 now).  we've been divorced for 16 years now.

and he STILL has had issues with 2 (now ex-) wives and other girlfriends having a fit about it being there.  he refuses to cover it up or lazer it off though.

kitten, who laughs about him telling her "i cant get rid of it, i still love you!"

Kat got branded within 6 months of joining us. (You can check out a picture of the brand in our couples profile. http://www.collarme.com/personals/v/319766/qvp/1/default.htm#)

It was a bit crazy, and all three of us like marks and branding.  It was an incredibly bonding experience, and it really did make Kat a permanent part of our lives.

I am sure it is not for everyone, but it works for us.

What?  You waited to put food away before getting branded?  Tsk Tsk Tsk.

GingerLou -> RE: Branding (1/11/2008 8:27:14 AM)

depends on what the brand is.

i wouldn't undergo someone's name but i am branded with a mark and actually its almost gone now, faded through time but it wasn't done with a hot iron

HalloweenWhite -> RE: Branding (1/11/2008 8:41:30 AM)

You shouldn't just brand someone "right away" as you put it (please define that better) I'd say you wait as long as you can-like months and months or even a year or two, it depends on a lot of things and there are a lot of impliactions.

You've -got- to know what you're doing or find someone (reputable) to do it for you .
The one who wants to be branded has got to be sure they do want it, they have to know what it'll be like, they need to be aware as far a spossible what it'll feel like, you both have to know how to take care of the brand once its done to avoid infection.What design do you want? if its both you initials what if you brake up?.

This is a big deal so should never be gone into lightly.

AquaticSub -> RE: Branding (1/11/2008 8:49:05 AM)

~Fast Reply~

I'm superstitious - I don't want to put anyone's name on my body but a child since it seems like a great way to ensure a break-up. We might put a symbol, like a brand, on me later but we generally regard it as tempting fate.

Where is her brand?  The idea of branding my ass sounds horrifying, but I kind of dig the thought of a brand on my thigh.

I already have 3 tatts, so to get another wouldn't seem to me to be a very significant way to mark a permanent relationship.  Not that I'd mind another tatt (or 10) but I think I'd want a new experience for, well, a new experience.

juliaoceania -> RE: Branding (1/11/2008 9:23:29 AM)

I have no limit on how he can mark me when he collars me. He has mentioned having my hood pierced. I do not want that, but a brand with his initials... how yummy. I would love that. He has stated he is not likely to ever order a tat or a brand... but he likes the idea of having my body pierced.

It's only as big a deal as you want to make it.  There is nothing objectively significant about getting a brand.

It is on the inside of her right thigh.  Our brand is a mix of a t (for Taggard) and an E (for Elle) that look like a key.  If you imagine her nether regions to be a lock, the key points that way...  *smile*

It really was an amazing experience.

OmegaG -> RE: Branding (1/11/2008 9:41:47 AM)

I saw it on the profile link, it looks very cool.

I was thinking the outside of the thigh, but the inside does seem more symbolic.  thanks

-subbies response-

i'm terrified of piercings but i love tattoos (go figure). Master has talked about branding me eventually but We are taking things slow plus i get to design His sleeves and a few other pieces.

i think branding is just another thing like collaring. Both are meant to show your devotion to your Dom(me).
