Well it wasn't scary at the time (although it was for my partner), it just wasn't the normal floaty subspace but more like what I think mild shock might be.  What else did you want to know girly?

Thank you Laurell... well, if I'm being honest, I'm curious of what type of play had occured to get you there.  I'm not heavily into pain, so I don't "think" I'd reach a point that you describe, but one never knows.

As for me experiencing subspace... I feel warm, loved, extremely happy, content, and a sense of timelessness (is that a word?).  hmmm... wish I was there right now. [;)]

Sorry for the delay in responding windows hates me when I open several cm threads at once and decided to dump hundreds of cascading windows on me.  The play both times was very extended and included whipping and caning amongst other things going on at the same time, although it certainly wouldn't be severe by some other's standards and really not even by mine, no permanent marks, although definite welting lasting more than a few days.  I can't really say it was horribly painful (although I am a masochist to an extent) so I'm not sure what the difference was.  I've definitely done milder things that were more painful and it didn't happen and I didn't get injured, just felt like hell for awhile and scared my partner.

I was beginning to think you went to bed Laurell [:D]
Thank you for answering my question... I kinda figured it had something to do with pain *smiles*
I'm sure it was scary for both you and your partner!  I think that's why I had to ask about it.... the way you described it scared me! jeesh... [;)]

Night girly!

When i was a newbie i used to think there was something wrong with me because i didn't experience the same things in the same way as everyone else.  i even have people tell me the only reason i didn't reach subspace was because i had not met the right Dominant.  This didn't sound right to me because my first Dominant was very skilled and His other girls did reach subspace.  As a newbie i was under the impression, from what i read on message boards to what i heard at munch groups that the only worthwhile submissives were bisexual pain-sluts who longed for a poly family.  Phhffttt.

Not everyone reaches subspace.  i can handle a lot of pain but i never feel endorphins or any other floaty feeling from it or any other activity.  i have never felt that "flying" feeling others talk about.  BUT i do get immense pleasure, satisfaction and fulfillment in what we do.

If you reach subspace, fabulous!  If you don't, that's okay too.
