I have a weird thing with veins and the inside of a body, like bones and stuff...

Some of the circulatory system gives me the heebie jeebies, too!  I don't mind blood or the heart, but talking/reading/hearing about arteries, veins and capillaries makes my skin crawl.  I have some hematological problems, so I'm practically BFF with with my phlebotomist.  Needles don't bother me and I'm fine looking at the blood, so we're cool as long as he can quickly find a vein.  But I have passed out on occasion if he's having trouble and talks too much about trying to find one.  Ew.

Eyes gross me out, too.  And anuses.

Other fears/phobias are:

confined spaces (which extends to a big fear of being trapped in a sinking car)
sharks
spiders and some insects
snakes
germs (I'm not a complete germophobe, but I'm a little obsessive about washing my hands and disinfecting things.)

Okay, now I feel like I'm in need of therapy.

And anuses.

The main thing I have a genuine fear of, is losing my independence. Like going blind, or being paralyzed.

That seems like a rational fear...especially when you see it stated right next to my ridiculous fear of anuses.  Thanks, Level.

I don't do well in large crowds, I need a bit more distance from teeming humanity.

Small skittery crawling things (spider, insect) give me the willies if they catch me by surprise.

there was a time when my list here would have been embarrassingly long... I have accomplished alot over the last years, with Tysons help, and am proud of myself for it.

These seem to remain:

phobias
   extreme panic when my nose and mouth are covered at the same time..
   rollercoasters that go upside down...well any ride that goes upside down.

fears
fear of my children  dying unexpectedly or abducted and killed.
   ( my 2nd child/baby died...SIDS ~sudden infant death syndrome )

The sudden stop at the end of a fall;
Not out living my unmentionables;
Missing something good, if I die;
Permanently losing self and I’m a little jumpy around flying insects that sting.

awwww phobia I know them all to well.

First and formost agroaphobia (fear of leaving the house) I will only get out when absoultely necessary, fear of confined spaces, loud noises or many noises coming in several directions.

Not afriad of the normal squiggly and insect thing. a critter is a critter and they dont bother me.

But #1 is the most crippling by far

Agoraphobia would be a hard thing to deal with. It's something that would affect so many aspects of your life...I feel for you.

I am afraid of things that jump...frogs, crickets, grasshoppers...I'm also afraid of bats and anything that stings such as bees or wasps. For soem strange reason, I am afraid of basements, and I think that stems from the fact that you can find bats, frogs, crickets, etc. down there. At least you can in my basement.

It does, and goes from can sorta handle to severe. Been a 10 year battle so far, but I dont let it totally control me, I try and work around it best I can.

If I thought there was sufficient interest, I'd start Anus-phobes Anonymous.  Let me work on that twelve-step program....

ALS… I was miss diagnosed with this terrible disease and lived for two years wakening every morning wondering if I would be able to swallow that day.

The only real phobia I seem to have is being a passenger in a car. I can't do it, it drives me absolutely nuts. Spiders and wasps can crawl over me, I've killed rattlesnakes, and handled garden snakes. I walk along narrow ledges of tall buildings almost  every day, and I love to explore caves. Nurses can poke and prod my blood vessels, a crazy guy pushed a gun in my face once, no big deal. Nothing else seems to get to me...
