Hmmmm so tempting.... I must do it just so I can giggle......

I am changing my answer!!!! Yes I most certainly would follow the ONE TRUE WAY I mean honestly there is no other and anyone who does not follow the ONE TRUE WAY must have some sort of intervention and be brainwashed, erm, Uhhhhh I mean taught the proper way of thinking so that they may be following appropriate practices..! Join the cult, I mean ummmm, oh shit, Follow the ONE TRUE WAY! (we will be walking right off the cliff at 5pm I expect all of you twue followers to be there)

Somehow this doesnt sound sincere enough. You are not one of the twue posters that we are waiting on. But have no fear, they will be here. But keep believing in that book, click your red ruby slippers together three times, repeating "I do believe it's twue, I do believe it's twue".  Maybe the man behind the black curtain will come and take you home <s>

beargonewild -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 6:55:39 AM)

Now jaded, don't you know by now the only one twue way is the Chocolate way? Chocolate is God, Chocolate Rules!  Rofl.

sambasis: unfortunately there still is a lot of double standards we face. It seems many people forget that BDSM encompasses a vast array of activities and concepts. Enough so that we have the luxury to take what works for us and discard the rest. At times we do have to have a thick skin and ignore the nay sayers. They have no concept on the intricacies of another relationship because they are not part of said relationship.

jadedserendipity -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 6:59:58 AM)

Damn...... Moga here I thought I was really sincere and convincing...... *looks at the floor and scuffs my toes across the ground twiddling my thumbs and wondering where the hell I put my ruby red slippers*

Bear?!?!?!? Chocolate you have it and are not sharing with the sweet and innocent jaded? *frowns*

Sambamanslilgirl I am sorry for derrailing your thread and will behave now....

FullCircle -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 7:26:25 AM)

When you think about it what do all subsections of the community have in common? What was it that lead to the formation of these distinct groupings? When people work out that the only real common thread is acceptance and understanding of reasonable sexual kinks and that vanilla is just another kink they will feel a bit stupid for excluding anyone because they have also excluded themselves by doing so.

I tried to use the term reasonable instead of legal because at certain points in time the things we legally do now have been illegal in the past. People mainly formed these groupings to fight against unjust sexual laws that ‘civil’ society created. In the modern era however the things we do are now more socially acceptable which means that people are trying to redefine what separates us from those others and that is a bit of a ridiculous practice in my opinion. The only thing that separates us is our open minds because you will still come across people that are disgusted by suggestions you make to them.

I’m going to break out into song at any moment now, fighting the good fight.

*taken from my journal*

What if there was a bible - not your average Bible but the "end all be all" bible for the kink lifestyle in which all the "experts" co-authored together - would you adhere to it?

Think about it for a minute.

This bible would explain exactly everything from A to Z about BDSM rom the correct definition between submissive and slave to defining what is a proper BDSM relationship, This book would have no special exceptions for special cases ...everyone around the world would have to obey it - no matter what.  Also it would cease and desist arguments on the forums because the "experts" have finally agreed upon what is the correct and twue way for you and yours.

Now, would you give up your own personal ideology/beliefs/etc to follow a book that doesn't truly define who you are in this kink lifestyle and/or relationship?

Please discuss - will read and comment in the morning

Is it considered divinely inspired? (Like the New Testament, Koran, and Torah)

What is the penalty for not following?  (Auto-de-fa, Coventry, Fines, Jail time, et cetera)

Who is policing this? (Governement, other persons?)

Will there be various sects?

Will there be concordia of discussion?  (Like the Mishnah?)

Okay, Her Highness is calling, so this is all I can get down right now.

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 8:48:12 AM)

some men are too egotistical to share

others are not

however i respect your opinion

DiurnalVampire -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 8:53:51 AM)

Since even the eletists dont agree, I dont onsider them a "group".
They all believe THEIR way is the correct one, so like with religion, thered be one book and ten thoushand interpretations and groups of belief. Even with an absolute end all be all book, thered still be people who interpret it differently, branch sectors who see things their own way, and the thered be add on books and followiups to further things.

AS for me personally, I dont care now what people think about how I do things, so I dont think having all those people who I dont really care if approve or not get printed and published would all of a sudden flip a switch and mek me go "OH I have been doing it wrong all these years!".

DV

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 8:56:54 AM)

jaded, you left your ruby slippers with bear ...oh, you don't have to behave.

Aylee, think of this book as the Kink bible - it will not be divinely inspired except by those who are "experts" in all manners of the BDSM.

however i do like your other questions - who will police us to make sure we're following the laws of the book? well, they will decide that.

sorry having various sects will not be allowed - remember this is one-way twueism. there is no sects or divisions allowed.

only the "experts" will have concordia of discussion. think of this as a consensus ending all of the bickering and sharing of different opinions done here on the forums.

I would not follow a book that did not define me.  I like rules and dictionaries, don't get me wrong.  But I seem to gravitate naturally toward situations that aren't "normal" or "coventional" and I enjoy being different.

Nope.

I don't know the people who would have alledgedly written this 'bible', and they don't know me...the real me, the inside me. And since a bunch of so called experts would never take the time needed to find that kind of stuff out; why would I follow something that they wrote?

Yet the major flaw would be with these experts since this is alluding to the fact these experts being perfect and I do not believe any human is Perfect.

Even if various sects were non existant, eventually I percieve that some type of underground movement would be created to balance out the inequality of this one sided thinking. I guess there's still a part of me that's always going to be the rebel!

AquaticSub -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 11:10:28 AM)

~Fast Reply~

*shrug* It would be nice if we all agreed on what every term meant but I'm not going to abide by a book simply because it was written and defines everything.

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 11:14:37 AM)

you raised an interesting point, Irish, and i wish the so-called "experts" would come here to  reply.

yet since they don't know each and every one of us as an individual, then why continue trying to convince us their way is the only way? *sighs*  still waiting for that "yes" man/woman - i'm such a glutton for punishment

beargonewild -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 11:15:34 AM)

True, though it is natural human nature that what sections of the book you agree with, will not necessary be the same parts I'll agree with.

beargonewild -> RE: What if..... (1/14/2008 11:18:04 AM)

~cough~  I hereby proclaim that my way is The One True Way.....for me only  *grins*

ps - even then it's flawed!

to err is human - i do agree.  no one is perefectly flawless and i was alluding that these experts do think of themselves as perfect.

good eye, bear
