I typically make a nice meal for my husband. He loves crab legs, so it's nearly always crab legs. He'll sit there and eat two pounds of them. He's got it down to a science. I also buy him a little box of chocolate and make him a sappy card. It's not terribly different from what I do for his birthday (except I'm not foraying into the realm of home-made Black Forest Cherry Cake), but it shows him that I love him and that I know what he likes. My son and I typically end up eating most of the chocolate, but oh well, it's the thought that counts. As for Valentine's Day itself, it's a generic Hallmark holiday. But regardless of how commercial and meaningless it has become, it's still a great opportunity to show someone you love a little special attention. Who doesn't like that? Edited to add: By "my son and I", I really mean I end up eating most of the chocolate. I really shouldn't bring the wee one into it. He can't eat that much chocolate anyway. It's me. I have a problem. LOL.
