The Vision of Escaflowne, Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, Rurunin Kenshin, Dragon Half, CLAMP School Detectives, Cutie Honey (she flashed people when she transformed, she's still my hero, lol), Twelve Kingdoms, Knight Hunters (which I think is the same as Weiss Kruez, is it not?) and more....
I enjoy the anime/game connection, but it often doesn't work out so well if it started out as a game first. And the game/movie connection isn'y so bad either. But it too is often the miss of the 'hit or miss'.

I do not support the WB version of any anime and Cartoon Network screws things up too sometimes.

That's so true. They pick the stupidest sounding voices for dubbing most of the time. They sound so much more fitting in japanese. I once was buying a series and bought one of the tapes in english by accident. I went out again and bought the Japanese version w/subs and the dialog read almost completely different from what they said in the English dub. And my friend who introduced me to anime speaks japanese so she's always pointing out the differences. We watch the dub versions when her father watches with us because he has bad eye sight and is hard of hearing. He watches Naruto, Avatar: the Last Airbender and some others.
A lot of people who have heard of Escaflowne only know the newer/WB version or the movie, not of "The Vision of" Escaflowne. A lot of geneon anime is not going to be finished/released in america anymore because of some contract issues with....damn, I forget the company's name. But that is alot of good animes now gone in the States.

I don't get to see much anime....friends of mine in the BJD world love it, go to ACEN and AnimeExpo, cosplay, the whole thing.

I love Cowboy Bebop and FullMetal Alchemist.  Ghost in the Shell, too, which is boring as manga, and cool as anime, IMO.

i like a lot of them, but one of mycurrent favs is Bleach. unfortunatly with most anime you need to really read the manga to get the full story, they leave out too much in the tv shows.

Also, just for laughs, find someone who knows Japanese to watch the shows with. Just the stuff that they leave in the show that is in writing(like Gara's mark in Naruto) can add a lot, and if you watch the shows that are subtitled in English it can be really funny.

Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, The Vision of Escaflowne, Battle Angel Alita, Ouran Host Club, Princess Tutu, Full Metal Alchemist, Death Note, Cardcaptor Sakura, Vandred, and anything by Miyazaki.

I was very happy when I saw Avatar: The Last Airbender - it would seem that american animators are finally taking the hint and adapting anime-style cartooning for their own uses.

Thus far, I'm very big fans of all the Anime listed above. Now to list some more.

Armatage III has a good vote from me. It has one of my all time favoriate lines.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the news is here to inform you that the last country singer in the entire universe has been killed."

Legend of The Overfiend. It's just one hell of a kinky movie and movie series. Besides, what good is an anime movie without seeing Tokyo getting blown up?

Lodus War is the altimate anime series for D&D fans.

How can anyone not laugh at Ranma 1/2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkeuzElAIDA

Sadly, a obsessive compulsive anime fan fell in love with the Anime Character Shampoo and ruined the series for me.

I've enjoyed watching most anime pretaining to Gundum/Gundum Wing.

Akira is still an awsome movie.

I like the anime movies put out by Gibli Studios. Especially Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke.

I too perfer subtitles. When watching with a group of people, I can always request to replay the nude scenes because I didn't catch the subtitle.

That's all for now. I'm to tired to list more.

Yes and i have a Deedlit tattoo planned with a dragon sitting behind her.  done by an asian artist who specializes in anime and dragons.  he's already done the one anime faery tattoo i have shown in my profile.

i didnt mention it because i could have mentioned atleast 20 other animes and rather prefer to hear what others liked.  have been watching anime since 1990.

the full title is:
Record Of Lodoss War  there is an OVA and a series.

Yes a lot is lost in translation of Anime. As a kid who grew up with only three channels (two of them japanese, and one local) I was exposed to a lot of the Raw anime(Japanese language no subs) But I had a lot of the same first most american children had, Such as Sailor Moon, Speed Racer, and Astro Boy.
My Favorites:
1) City Hunter
2) Bubblegum crisis (both the original and the 2040 series and the AD police spin offs)
3) Appleseed (the 1980s orignal)
4) Ghost in the Shell (the orignals although stand alone complex is good too)
5) Ranma 1/2 (the OVA with all the nudity)
6) Paltabor (the 1980s orignal)
7) Domination Tank police (the 1990 orignal, where the Cat sisters striped)
8) Dragonball (the orignal uncut OVA only shown in Japan. NOT the crappy Z, GT, AF spinoffs they sucked)
9) Desert Punk
10) Evanglion (uncut Ova only shown in japan)

My favorite anime by far is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, second favorite is Kodocha....

After that in no particular order, some other nifty ones: Hare + Guu, Azumanga Daioh, Excel Saga, Chobits, Scrapped Princess, Read or Die, Full Metal Alchemist, Gundam SEED, Lucky Star, Mahou Sensei Negima, Love Hina, Vandread, Martion Successor Nadesico, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (Which I just started/finished last night, a pretty awesome series), Magical Shopping Arcade: Abenobashi... The Third, Gatekeepers, Tactical Roar, Neon Genesis Evangelion, RahXephon, .hack//SIGN..... and others that aren't coming to mind at the moment.

But yeah, anime tends to be pretty awesome, heh... It's really too hard to pick favorites other than one or two that you like the most, just because so much of it is awesome.

Fnord.

Heh, I'm kind of opposite, I generally prefer things that are longer.... HOWEVER, there is a line between being long and still awesome, and long and going from awesome to just a ton of filler episodes (which aren't necessarily bad, but they do bring down the total awesomeness of whatever series)... Like for instance, the last 100 episodes of Naruto before the new season finally started, definately not as good as the first 100-ish episodes, and not a ton of reason for them being there.... But then there's something like Gundam SEED, which is 50 episodes long, but there's no filler (except for maybe one or two recap episodes that if they bother you can generally just be skipped)...

Basically what I'm saying is, if they keep a good story going without filler for more than 26 episodes, it makes it that much better the longer it is.... However if they do have a ton of filler, it might still be a good anime but it does get that kind of "meh" ness to it that doesn't make you want to watch it a bunch of times... Like Slayers, Slayers was a fun series, there are some parts/episodes that are just awesome, most of the main characters are just great, but it's not an anime I'd really want to spend the time to watch more than once or twice... I'd only really watch it again to show someone, because it's worth seeing once, but because it's so needlessly long it's not really worth watching a bunch of times.

Which of course is one good thing about shorter half-season anime (Like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Onegai Teacher, etc.), you can watch them a bunch of times without using up too much of your life, plus since they're so short there isn't really room for a ton of random filler episodes/filler story arcs.

But yeah, generally if something is awesome, I prefer to have as much of it as I can get, which means if you had a 50 episode series of solid awesome vs. a 12 episode series of solid awesome, I'd probably slightly prefer the 50 episode series... Assuming equal levels of awesomeness, of course, but since Opinions aren't math, well, fnrod.
