Oh yeah...check out the Fencer of Minerva. It is total BDSM anime(for female slaves). Its kinda old tho(the English voice over sucks to high heaven thus I prefer sub than dub).but still good. I saw it on Charter On Demand feature under the animation tab. I think someone in the office is into it!

Reading the posts reminded me of even more animes I've seen. Most have been mentioned by others but here's some more:

3x3 Eyes, Fushugi Yuugi (spelling?), X, Tenchi Muyo, DearS, Blue Seed, Shamanic Princess, Elfin Lied, Fist of the North Star (bleeh, total guy anime), Nightwalker: Midnight Detective, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Those Who Hunt Eleves (fun-ny!), Sorcerer Hunters, Geobreeders, Wild Cardz, Macross, Green Legend Ran, Jubei Chan:The Ninga Girl, Angel Links, and still more! LOL, too much anime!

Nonsense, you can never have (or watch) too much anime. =)

Ushio & Tora is and always will be my favorite anime series.

Others on my list of faves:  Read or Die ( OVA and TV series ),  Blue Seed,  Vandread,  Special Duty Combat Unit Shinesman ( the only anime I've ever seen in which the dub actually is better than the sub ),  Kekko Kamen (how can you NOT love an anime where the superheroine's costume is her birthday suit,  a jester mask,  scarf and boots?) ,  Urusei Yatsura,  Temchi Muyo ( the first series continuity,  not the Tenchi Universe / Tenchi in Tokyo continuity ) Hellsing ( both the original and the new version,  though I would have rather they kept the friggin SD facial expressions out of the new version. )  Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X,  Silent Mobius,

There's one I truly like but the name of the series escapes me for the life of me.  It involves the female heir of a Yakuza family whose trying to hold a day job as a teacher in a school for deliquents.

edit:  name of the above series is GOKUSEN

I just wanted to note that im not a fan of things bigger than 26 episodes..i find it gets boring and very repetitive... i prefer the 13 episode series the most.

So much for Dragan Ball, Z, GT, ect.... series/legacy.

There was an anime movie called "Bondage Police".  Yes you guessed it the poor girl police officer did undercover work and kept getting tied up......

What ever happened to Pirates of Darkwater? I remember seeing it when I was a kid, but then the show just disappered.

Glad to see another fan of the series!

This is from the piratestesofdarkwater.net, a website devoted to the series:

The show was never finished. Only 21 episodes were created and aired (though many TV stations only showed the first 5 or 13), and these only took us up to the 8th Treasure of Rule. There are various reasons, stated and speculated, for the cancelation of the show:

- The show was extremely expensive for its time, and was slated to be canceled after episode 13 because there wasn't enough of an audience to justify the high production costs. The last 8 were only produced after David Kirschner and Cos Anzilotti, the creator and producer respectively, fought like crazy to keep them from ending the series that early.
- The original scriptwriter died, and the new one that wrote episodes 14-21 had a different style, which turned people off from the show and made its ratings drop.
- Hanna-Barbera itself might be to blame, for failing to meet promised air dates on episodes past the first 5 episodes, thus leading to huge gaps of time in the initial airing of the episodes and, therefore, lower ratings.
- The studio itself was undergoing management issues, with a disconnect between the creative concepts and how the production was handled, and the time when PoDW was produced was the start of some rocky times that ultimately led to the end of the studio when Warner Bros. took it over several years later.

Sad, cause it bugged the hell out of me that after the first three episodes I really wanted to see how that ended.

Well, when I was living in Asia, I read several books of manga and watched a lot of anime, so I do know what you're talking about.

I consider anime and cartoons to be largely a difference of style; like the difference between a Cubist and Neo-Cubist. Anime does have a distinct pattern--the extended chase scenes, the predilection for instant violence, the female characters usually wearing outfits patterned after Japanese school uniforms--which might set it apart, but that is largely a matter of personal preference.

One thing that does strike me about anime is the extended plots and fantastic levels of conflict which suddenly erupt from the pages. Having dwelled in Japan for several years I think the heightened sense of urgency and violence depicted in anime is a direct counterpoint to the placidity of Japanese society; almost as though anime provides a release for the society as a whole. This might well make someone's academic reputation should they wish to write a dissertation on the subject.

The series was canceled. It never ended with the kid getting all the stones and resetting the balance of the Dark Water Monster. The show only lasted long enough to sell toys.

http://www.retrojunk.com/details_tvshows/127-pirates-of-dark-water/

Ratings went down and new ideas poped for other cartoons. As you can see, it only lasted one season and a half.

http://www.retrojunk.com/tv/episodes/127-pirates-of-dark-water/

If you're lucky, you might be able to find scripts that never made it to becoming cartoons so you can find out what really happens.

Realisicly, Ren is suppose to ultimatly defeat the Dark Water from taking over the world. However, if you ever make a final episode, it ends the series endefinetly. Rather than end the series with a last episode, they only play another episode of some quest/adventure that allows a continuation loop cycle to take place. You'll forever watch it but never find out how it all ends.

Remember when Dungens and Dragons became a cartoon? They never made a final episode where the kids defeat Venger and find there way back home to stay there permently.

Welcome to Cartoon Series 101

i have loved anime since i was a kid (make all the jokes you want lol) but i keep going on and off with it sometimes its all i watch and read and other times i don't watch any...like now because i lack the resources like a tv and a dvd player.
But for anime i go for: Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Ruruni Kenshin, Samari X (different i promise!), Trigun, Excel Saga, Alice in Wonderland (CLAMP)

Manga -which i planned on making a living off drawing when i was 10- all the animes above, Wish, Real Bout High School (didn't spell that right), Evangelion, XXXholic

Now i am all nostalgic

Full Metal Alchemist the best anime ever, I LOVED that series. Cowboy bebop was good, also trigun, Samauri 7 also was great.

Yeah I remeber that goofy show, a lot of Rominko Takashi's works Ranma 1/2 And Inuyasha (sorry to spoil it for you who don't know) end the same way where the heros never quite defeat the Bad guy and achive their goal and the main Hero and herione never admit their feelings. I felt sad when those series ended, it felt like losing close friends. any one else fell like that or am I just weird?

But honestly D&D was a fun past time in the 80s and it got a lot of press (good and bad) But I think its time to turn of the resperator and just let it die.

I think for old times sake I'll look up D&D on Veoh or you tube.

Speaking of old 80s 90s shows, any one remember Beast Wars?

Beast Wars? Didn't care for this Transformer version very much. That includes the story plot and the computer graphics. Other than Veggie Tales, I haven't been a very big fan of computer cartoon episodes on televison. Mickey Mouse and other "Old School" cartoons just aren't the same when they go computer. As clay, Gumby still kicks ass.

Anyways, back to Anime.

If anyone loves watching a delima, then watch the Anime Series "Ah! My Goddes"

A guy wishes for a spiritual goddess to grant him a mansion and to be his girl friend forever. POOF! A mansion appears and the goddes is living in it to be with him. However, they never do anything including kissing. The whole way the series has you pulling your hair going "When the hell are they going to fuck!"
