What goes on in your mind/body/soul when you're involved in creating a dynamic of psychological or physical pain in your partner? What is it like? How does it feel to you as you move through the scene, controlling that edge of energy? What is the anticipation like beforehand? How do you feel during and after? What are some of your favorite moves? What do you notice? Not just signs and symptoms, but as your partner is bending to your will, what pleases you in that? What kinds of responses tell you that you're in the right spot? I'm not looking for snit fights on the definitions of sadism or the right way to do it, if it's ok to do or not, nor the simplistic "It is who I am...I just BE...so I certainly can't describe it". I don't control any "edges of energy", I don't understand where you get that from - I control my bank account, and sometimes even my car.. For me, it is a combination of a power trip and a deep appreciation of trust. Does not have to be esoteric.

wow, this is a hard one. I definitely have a sadistic side, and I don't know if the basis for that is enjoying the power I can use, or maybe it's the resolution of feelings I developed as a kid watching Man from UNCLE grin or whatever, but I know I like it. I like to see her squirm, hear her small cries and moans, push her to the edge I hope will be a place of surprise for her, never having known she would enjoy it that much. I like seeing the marks, like art on a canvas; the provocative pulling and swelling of clips, clamps, and pierces; the flush and blush of humbling forces and forced showings; ahhh, it is all good ;)

Energy flow for us is the largest part of BDSM. I tend for feed off anothers emotions andstruggles. Can I describe it better then that, I am not sure I can. I know its there with some and not with others. I like it and want more.

but there is more. The rush of energy during the workup, the mix of pleasure/pain, the smell that my sub/slaves give off, there body as it rocks. it's a GOD COMPLEX plain and simple. Knowing that someone is willing to give themselves to you, to do your bidding, for me it is like full contact fighting or being in combat. Soldiers will tell you, as I will (8 years with the 2nd/75th airborne Ranger division during the Regan Era), that while in combat things will slow down, you will notice everything and nothing, your heart will be racing but you will not know it, you'll come to believe that you're super human and also close to death and the rush after the effect will last for about 36 hours. So that is what I feel (I do not speak for others) during the session. I would say its a power trip but I think mainly it is just that I like to press buttons and find out what they do and the most fun buttons of all for me are on a woman. Its like a license to explore someone psychologically and physically and shows a lot of trust. I guess for the sub, its can be something of a challenge to hold back. I mean c'mon I must have my scream and if you are not gonna give it to me, then I'm gonna have to try something you didn't expect. Iron, Those were some of my favorite quotes as well. You know, there is something about being the recipient of all that thought and energy and planning and all that is hot. I liked a lot of what everyone has said so far, so I won't address those. Instead, I would like to talk about something that wasn't mentioned (at least directly) by the previous responses. One thing I'm coming to realize about this question is how deeply some subs perv on the idea of watching themselves be used through someone else's eyes. The question "what gets you off about hurting me" is asked with glowing eyes and panting breath. It's very odd to see someone looking at you and knowing that they are sort of projecting into your head to see themselves. I don't work that way, I'm not very concerned with the converse. For me it's not "perving" on the idea, it's wanting to have as great an understanding as possible of my Master's perspective. The better I understand him, the better I can serve him. And since I simply love his lust, I like knowing what brings him that lust.
