        Interesting link. Doesn't the fact that so many, have tried so hard (for the benefit of so few) to re-discredit Reagan's comment tell us something? Like that he had some factual basis when he made a comment that sounded ignorant to the people who really were?

      Hmmm... Maybe he wasn't so detached from the issue after all?

     You see? Using quotes that rely on your audience being uninformed is NOT the way to make fun of Republicans.

Rich:
Talking in circles only makes sense if you are on a merry-go-round.
When Ray-gun said it,it was ill informed.
When you or anyone tries to substantiate it, it is still ill informed.
If you choose to rely on people like Rush to interpret scientific data, instead of going to the source and then checking peer review of the hypothesis, then you will appear to be only as intelligent as Rush.
If you want to make out that Ray-gun Ronnie was a genius and that trees make more pollution than cars and smoke stacks then at least have the courtesy to put on your cape and tinfoil hat.
Ray-gun did a pretty fair job of discrediting himself. Remember he is the one who emptied the mental hospitals in California? Now those people are inmates in prisons and jails instead of patients in hospitals. This is costing the taxpayers more by far than their care in the mental hospitals was costing. They are now occupying cell space that might more productively be used by real criminals.
As for crushing the "evil empire"...do you remember in Orwell's book "1984" yesterdays enemy becomes todays Allie and yesterdays friend becomes todays enemy?
The evil commies that were going to make the dominoes fall in south east Asia are now eating KFC and Micky D and nearly 60,000 body bags are filled with the bodies of those who fell for that shit.
It is not a "red blue" thing. The only difference between LBJ and Dubya is that one was a more convincing liar. Commies then Islamofacist now same shit different day.
