Lamaze that is what i was trying to spell before. i am not someone who likes pain and at this point in my life i don't have a very high pain tolerance, although i used to. The breathing out the pain is very helpful in processing pain. Also you may find that different implements cause you to respond differently. Canes (more solid) are harder for me than whips, floggers or quirts. Needles produce an entirely different pain response than any of the others. i had to learn not to hold my breathe when it hurt but rather to push my breath out and mentally focus on pushing the pain out. i know another submissive who counts down because she knows that a sharp pain will only last a certain number of seconds. Neither myself or this other submissive that i am mentioning go into subspace at all, so it just hurts the whole time.

* Edited to add, the reason that i used to have a higher pain tolerance is a combination of amount of play time and changes in hormone levels. Levels will go up and down (at least for me) based on how often i get to play and what time of the month it is.

Hope that helps some,
heartfelt
