I loved him in Brokeback Mountain...his performance was incredible.

I hope we can all not rush to judgement and simply say rest in peace to one of the good ones.

This is so far beyhond tragic. An up and coming actor with mass talent, to young and so needed by one ... his daughter.

Wow...just WOW. I can't believe this one. It's like when Brandon Lee died while making The Crow. Different circumstances, but just as shocking. So it looks like his last role was The Joker in The Dark Knight. As they say, if you're going to go, go with a smile.

According to some news ive read, it wasn't illicit drugs found by his body. During the filming of "The Dark Knight"  he got hurt doing one of the stunts, which is why he was having regular visits from a massage therapist. (who was the first to find him). The pills that were near his body were pain medications perscribed to him. apparently he had an adverse affect from them and passed away.

Please let that be true.

He was found by his housekeeper, who went to wake him for the apt. with the masseuse. The pills were over the counter sleeping pills, not pain pills.
this is such a shame, it will be a difficult challenge to overcome for his daughter.

Don't know what's sadder, if it were deliberate or if he didn't read the label.

Aren't we making tremendous assumptions?  Pills by his bed, he committed suicide...  his body isn't even cold you guys.. easy does it on the deductions!

I think however it happened, it is very sad.  I feel for his daughter never getting to know him, it's such a waste.  I don't think in the end it matters how we go, it's how sad it is when a life is ended way too soon (famous or not).

It's sad. I'm sure in the next day or two, we'll hear the whole story about what happened. Still, this is definitely going to throw a pall over the new Dark Knight film... I've never seen Brokeback, or First Knight... but I did see Brother's Grimm. I don't see Gilliam as being cursed... it's more like, the man deliberately goes for these difficult projects that stresses everyone out... and shit happens because of it. Ever see "Lost in LaMancha?"

Damn, what can I say?

Way too young, and talented to leave us this early.

I loved him in all his movies.

Damn.

Dark Knight is listed on IMDB as "post production" so the movie will still feature him. Yahoo news had to correct their story originally indicating that he would no longer be in the film. He makes a scary Joker if you go watch the trailer.

He was found naked in bed with a bottle of sleeping pills near by. I have not found anything online so far saying if they were in bed with him or on the counter or what.

They are supposed to do an autopsy tomorrow so we should know if it was suicide or an accident. It could be something completely different though. Maybe he had a brain aneurysm, and the pills have nothing to do with it. We wont know until they release the results. The fact he had pills nearby means little to nothing except t was mentioned to the press, and everyone seams to be running with it.

On the other hand maybe they do have something to do with it. Either way, we have to wait and see.

I was very upset and shocked to hear the news. I absolutely adored him from the moment I saw him in 10 Things I Hate About You and then saw everything he was in, culminating with the triumph of his career, Brokeback Mountain. I loved that movie so much, it is one of the very few movies I actually own.

Too young, talented, hot, handsome to die and a tragedy for his family and child. Rest in peace.

Well, I missed the first 10 minutes of Nancy Grace.
I will catch it later.
I did hear the police left his building with a ladder, something about his possibly
having pnemonia, and a real problem with the inability to sleep.

Ugh
