I guess a lot depends on your reading, and your partner's reading, of the word "more".
So many activities are gender-specific. How do you account for these issues?
And what if a wonderful partner happens to have limits in a certain area far beyond where yours were in your bottomy days, and these in an area you would like to explore today? Can you give an account of the ethical/logical/other basis on which you would deprive yourself and this partner of these explorations simply because they would reach into the territory of "more than you ever did" when you were on the bottom/sub side.?
I ask because this limitation, so often touted in forums like this one, seems to me perfectly arbirary (the equivalent of "I won't spank on Thursdays"). I'd like to know if you agree.
I'm all in favor of having arbitrary boundaries. Hence I have no concern or confusion as far as that goes. But so often this particular sort of arbitrary boundary seems to be set forth as if it isn't arbitrary. It seems to be set forth as a way which is chosen not as a matter of mere preference but because the chooser deems it a superior way to proceed.
If anyone reading this sees this sort of limitation as a superior way to proceed, would you care to offer your account why it would be better (not just personally preferable) for the top/dom(me) to refrain from asking for anything he or she hasn't experienced him or herself as a bottom/sub?
