Maybe it's because you won't refer to women as a "slut." There could be a zillion different reasons. But here is the truth...The majority of the women who have profiles up here saying that they are subs I have actually created. Why? I'm bored, disabled and bitter.

Sometimes if the guy is lucky I'll forward a nekkid pic of some random woman or maybe a pic of an ex that I am pissed at. Other times I will just delete their message as "unread." Hell, sometimes I send'em a cock shot. I think I let you off easy.

But if you really would like a nice close-up shot of the Domidong...Just send that hot sub that you were pining after another message. You won't be disappointed.

I hadn't considered that the Deleted Unread status might be generated by automated filters.

It's not.  Someone has to actively delete an email before reading it for it to be classified as 'Deleted Unread'.

ModeratorEleven,

Thanks for clarifying that. In that case, I must revert to my original statement. I just don't get why you would have an ad if you're going to even bother to CONSIDER the messages you receive.

To most of you telling me to calm down and accept it,

Don't worry, I'm probably a lot calmer than I sound, but I don't think you guys are "getting it". I fully understand that my age, photo, profile text, or anything else might not interest someone, and that they might delete me with without reply. But THAT'S NOT THE SCENARIO WE ARE TALKING ABOUT, and as ModeratorEleven has now clarified. If they were deleting my messages for ANY of those reasons, it would show up as "Deleted" rather than "Deleted Unread". As I understand the operation of the site, the ONLY plausible thing they could be objecting to would be my username itself, which is visible when you are on the page where you can cause "Deleted Unread" status to show up.

I "get it".  Everyone "gets it".

You've spent 3 very long emotionally filled diatribes to ensure that we all "get it".

No one will leave this thread without having "gotten it".

We "get it".

(Got it?)

So that's how you get a picture of the Domidong! I may have to pretend to be a dom sometime.

It doesn't mean you should try to derail it either.  Save that for the Random Stupidity forum please.

Awwww crap.  I got so excited when I saw Off Topic... I swore it said Random Stupidity after that.   <-- closest I can get to self-flagellation.

I think what amazes me most about this thread is the number of people who feel the need to invest a lot of energy in arguing with the OP.  They guy came to CM with a set of expectations that he's discovering aren't realistic here.  It happens, its not that big of a deal... really.  What's all the hostility, the snarky comments, etc. about folks?  Over the last few years I've lost count how many of these threads I've seen.  Its a regular event... someone, usually a male dom, writes a post wondering why they get so little response to email.  That's inevitably followed by a lot of posts "correcting" the person... often in a pretty rude way.  What's all the fuss about?  Why does it seem to so frequently upset so many people.  Its just email... if you don't like what someone wrote, delete it... block em if ya want... what's the big deal?

I just can't help but think that somewhere in the reaction to all of this... things went overboard.  Why get so worked up over something that really is no big deal to begin with.

Frankly I think it's a little rude that they can't manage the one click it takes to send an automated "Thanks, but not interested" message, but I accept that it's part of life here that if she's not interested, I probably won't hear back. Sigh.

quote:

Let me tell you what is likely to happen when a submissive responds "sorry, I'm not interested." Some dominants then begin a sad, pathetic, and whiny campaign to win the sub over. They list all of the reasons why she should give him a chance and get to know him. It's not fun seeing a D type revert back to childhood. So it's best if they understand that:

no response = not interested

AE, I personally am with You on this particular topic. I find it rude to delete someone's e-mail without bothering to even see what it says (but then, I'm a curious sort). I also find it very rude not to get some kind of response to a well-written introductory (read) e-mail. (I do, however, personally ignore such highbrow introductions that simply state, "Hi" and nothing else. Ugh!) If a person takes the time to write an e-mail that is genuine and doesn't appear to be a copy/paste e-mail, then I find it only courteous to reply back in kind, even if it is to say, "Thanks but no thanks."

With that said, however, KatyLied also has an excellent point. After I have replied with "Thanks but no thanks," I've often gotten a second e-mail trying to tell me why we would be a good match, or asking me to explain what it is about them that I don't find appealing. For that point alone, some subs may not consider it to be worth the effort.

For me, however, I tend to be polite until I'm forced to be otherwise, so most initial sincere e-mails get some sort of reply.

Some here have said, "Don't take it so personally." Although any kind of rejection can be difficult, You might consider that if they don't even bother to read Your message, they are missing out on YOU and they aren't worth YOUR time. I perved Your profile and You seem to be an interesting, intelligent (but perhaps overly gregarious) guy...and You mistakenly prefer skinny girls -- ha!

Anyway, best of luck to You in Your search...don't give up!
