LadyPact -> RE: What do you do for Valentine's Day? (1/30/2008 10:55:34 AM)

With all three schedules being different this year, I'm probably going to have to have different times with each of them.  I'll be getting My husband a card and a gift.  In return, he'll do the same.  A card and something in return.  That will either be lingerie or there might be some jewelery.  My husband and I keep the Valentines Day thing vanilla.

As for My sub, I haven't quite figured it out yet.  I'd really like to set up some kind of play session for him, but it would be very difficult to pull off with the work schedules.  Haven't decided on anything firm yet.  I could do a good waxing with nothing but red candles, or something of that sort.  I have a few ideas in My head.

This is the first Valentines Day we get to spend together, so it's special in that way.
Plus Darcy managed to obtain tickets for a special 'intimate' acoustic gig that Sheryl Crow is in London for that night.  It's gonna rock.

I'll be spending it with my three year old niece so her mother can be with her friends (recent break-up trauma and all that).   It's fitting though as she definitely has my heart although she can't yet say the word "valentine" without making everyone laugh. She adds several extra syllables to the word and she cannot yet pronounce v's well, although some of this may be intentional, she is quite a ham.

I'm disappointed that not that many seem to be celebrating Valentines Day in the way it deserves to be celebrated.

^^ Valentine's Day follows exactly a week after my birthday, so we usually celebrate both at once.

creatrix -> RE: What do you do for Valentine's Day? (1/30/2008 8:51:11 PM)

I only hope I at least have a date. [:(]
I would LOVE to get spanked along with other amenities. [;)]
we shall see... I do have two weeks, now then, don't I?

Just to do something different we spend the day telling each other what, and how much, we hate about the other.

For instance in my case, I tell beth how I hate it that now I can't enjoy going anywhere without her. I REALLY hate that, because of her, I now know what its like to be lonely when she's not by my side. I hate the way she looks because I've lost the ability to appreciate any other beautiful naked female.

There are countless other reasons, but I assure you, my hatred runs deep. I'm happy when Valentine's Day comes around each year, providing me a day to spew forth all this hatred and give her a few dozen roses, special ordered WITH thorns, representing those emotions.

Edited to add:

PS - Oh yeah - beth reminded me that she's already gotten a few other representative gifts of my hatred. While in Vegas I had a set of matching purple and black leather ankle/wrists cuffs made at Lady C Leather, and a little silver and gold Vegas 'lucky' bracelet.

I am super excited about this Valentines, because its my first ever Valentines with Somebody. I will see him on Valentines, but we will celebrate it that weekend as he has made plans for us to go away. I have to say that after a hetic christmas season spent in retail working six days a weeks and only see him one day a week, to get away for a few days just me and Him sounds wonderful. I don't know what, or where we are going/doing but its with him so it will be fun and special.

Merc[:(],

Just when i thought i could not dislike the day anymore than i do...you remind me of what i don't have and most likely  won't experience any time soon[:(]. Not your fault that i am reading this damn thread...i will blame it on the rainy morning and a slightly heightened level of stress at the moment~

8 years ago on Valentines day evening, my now ex asked for a divorce due to the "new" valentine in his life...right after i had taken offspring to a sitter for the night and opened a bottle of champaigne... timing, eh?

While i realize i am allowing a past experience to jade this day of remembering intimate loved ones, it was never a good one at ANY time in my life, married or not~
Anyway, just my rant...
i do wish everyone all the best on this day~

not a flame, a legit question here...just exactly is the way it deserves to be celebrated?

i mean i'm romantic but i like to be noticed in a lot of little ways all the time. and i like the reverse as well--i like to notice people in little ways all the time. frankly all that pink and red in the grocery store (sorry i don't get out much lol) scares me. i don't want to be scared by an overabundance of romance on any given day lol. sort of ruins the point of the holiday.

ladycirce -> VD (2/1/2008 7:30:55 AM)

i like to constantly refer to the hallmark holiday as VD.  tell people to share the love.  hahaha.

RCdc -> RE: What do you do for Valentine's Day? (2/1/2008 7:39:04 AM)

Valentines Day isn't a 'Hallmark' holiday.  It's a traditional day that stems from the middle ages, no different to other saints days.  It's just become more commercialised.

I do send my friends (not just lovers) a hallmark ecard..or a normal one..with some words about them in it (nice ones ;) )
Well... I do that outside valentine also. Other wise it is just a day as many (besides beeing the 14th feb)

RedMagic1 -> RE: What do you do for Valentine's Day? (2/1/2008 12:19:25 PM)

She works in food and tourism, and as someone already noted, that kinda gets in the way.  So it'll be a couple days late, but -- inspired by recent threads here, we plan to incorporate "energy play" for the first time.  Sorry to hear about that, Dawntreader.  I had actually been thinking of asking you for advice on the other side, too.......

I think it's charming to set aside a special day to celebrate a romantic connection with another.  I certainly try to be generous and supportive even if it's not December 25th.
