I DO think this country is *ready* for an African American President, but I don't think Obama has the skill or experience to actually do the job.  Most of what I've read (and I will admit, it wasn't very much) in regards to his "plans" and strategies, rides on the backs of other politicians...almost like a quilt of ideas that he pieced together. To some that may seem like a good thing, to me it seems to lack the ability to figure out his own way.

Bush doesn't have the skill to do the job, either, but he was re-elected.  LOL  I think Obama would make an excellent president because he couldn't possibly screw up this country any worse than what it is.  To me, all politicians (Hillary, Romney, McCain) say the same bullshit, but Obama actually speaks with a fresh new point of view.  I think the combination of his age, race, heritage, and ideals would make him an excellent president.

As for his strategies and plans, no one person has the answers for all questions and problems.  That's why the president has a cabinet and advisors.  They provide different viewpoints and solutions.  That gives the president the best chance to make the right decisions.  Maybe they come up with a good solution, maybe the president himself comes up with one.  As they say, two heads are better than one.  I say give Obama that chance.

I know the title of the thread is "Democratic Primary" but...just for the record, on election day I'll be writing in Ron Paul's name.

We have a Republican poll, too.

Just found it and voted...thank you Level!

It appears, from the polls i've seen so far, that this country just might do that...Give Obama a chance.

Me, personally? I don't think he's qualified enough for the job...it's simple opinion. I have nothing personal against the man (aside from the school-yard fighting between him and Hillary).

I think Obama has the potential to do enormous good for this country. He could also really screw things up ... but I don't believe he could more than Bush already has (also, all th far-left candidates whom I really liked have dropped out of the race).

Barack Obama (17)
Hillary Clinton (6)
John Edwards (6)
None of the above (5)
