That's typical of Billy; he is a sore loser.  He always has been a sore loser even when he was Governor here and he couldn't get the legislature to go along with him.  That little remark was a swipe at Obama; he was basically saying that Jesse won SC, but he didn't win the final battle.  Of course, what Bill forget is the Democrats got their asses handed to them in '88.  His self serving, 2 hour speech at the '88 Democratic Convention didn't help matters.  He helped to sink his party when he pulled that bullshit.

I just want the damn Clintons to GO AWAY.

J. Jackson and Al Sharpton are terrified of the prospect Obama winning presidency. It would destroy their ideology of racially divided America. Jacson and Sharpton have difficulties because they can not endorce Clinton. Yesterday I saw interview with Jackson where he said that the fight between Obama and Clinton does not mean divide between democrats and he is sure Obama would at the end support Clinton if she will win (my remark: the last being expected and desired result of the primaries).

It was far more than that...

It was a message to white voters that if the don't support Mrs. Clinton, than they will have a black guy gunning in November.

I think it was more of a message to Democrats that a black man doesn't have a chance in Hades of winning the Presidency.  I agree it was motivated by race.  Billy boy is trying to cast a little doubt in the minds of Dem primary voters about Obama's chances against a white Republican in November.  His daughter was here today pulling the same bullshit, which I find a little irritating.  The Clintons have get extremely irritated when reporters try to interview her, but they don't have any problem parading her out in front of people to campaign for them.

JJ is -- in your face- activist.   BO is not--tho he appears to be outside the loop

There's probably no greater insult than that. Being compared to that lying racist Jesse Jackson? The guy that rubbed his shirt in MLK's blood and then lied to the world and said he held him as he lay dying? The guy that MLK actually deemed dangerous, and wanted to keep him away?

 That Bill is playing racial politics is a bigoted comment.

He is friends w/ Jackson and an associate.Unlike the wacky right-wing  fruit loops who hate Jackson,the rest of America don`t think ill of him.

This was a truthful comment and a compliment.

Only a bigot, would think is was a put down or smear.

Does it matter that Clinton never said those words?

Owner, Bill Clinton plays politics of all kinds.  He would do anything to win, and so would his wife.  It really amazes me how much they have fooled everyone in this country.  I don't care if you are a liberal, but get a better candidate.  I am telling you, that he is a wolf in sheep's clothing.  He is a snake, and he always has been.

Ah, thank god we've got the expert. Owner will tell us exactly who likes and who doesn't like Jesse Jackson, AND exactly what reasons they like or don't like him!

So because Martin Luther King did not like Jesse Jackson, he is a right wing fruit loop, eh? Your stereotyping is as bad as your spelling.

Hi slaveboy,

They are tough fighters,and they don`t come to a gun fight with a knife.So what?

In all the years the  republicans and right-wing media have been calling him names,he hasn`t said one thing ugly or untrue about anyone.I defy anyone who can show he has,to do so.

They have never swift boated or pulled a Willie Horton,or claimed that his opponent had had a black baby out of wedlock,etc.etc?We know who does that crap...

I know the press went after him over these comments,saying he was playing with race.There was no such thing in this vid.I kinda liked how he pointed out that the press is fanning the flames and playing with race.He says,"shame on you,to the press.I say ,shame on the press too.

They suck dick.

He's a politician!!!!!! Anyway he has never pulled the same sort of shit the Republicans tried in his Presidency. They were prepared to make the US look ridiculous and to a large extent did and gave the perception around the world that Republicans were mean, bitter and spiteful.

I guess Clinton didn't have to pull any shit on the Republicans, the Bush administration has made just about everyone around the world think Republicans are mean, bitter, spiteful, small minded warmongering bigots.

From the looks of these posts, you all would not know the truth if it stood up and bit you in the ass.
Now, one of my favorite persons is Bill Clinton.
He did a wonderful job with the economy.
For some reason people continue to attack him and his wife for their liberal views.
Jessie Jackson is another topic all together.  I live in the same town he is in.  He is a jerk.
He and Bill Clinton were very close.
I would suggest you do research on these Clinton bashings before you post them.

Regards, MissSCD

Muttling -> RE: President Clinton "Obama Is Just Like Jesse Jackson" (1/28/2008 7:42:51 AM)

Said Bill Clinton today in Columbia, SC: "Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in '84 and '88. Jackson ran a good campaign.  And Obama ran a good campaign here."

How is that a racial play or sour grapes?   Sounds like a respectful statement to me.

Anyone who disagrees with Owner's knee jerk bigotry is a right wing neo con like MLK... [8|]

Owner59 -> RE: President Clinton "Obama Is Just Like Jesse Jackson" (1/28/2008 8:33:43 AM)

 The story that there was a rift or problem between King and Jackson is a myth.That`s not true.

For those who know better,it`s a stink`n lie.

The bigot wing of the republican party(fans of right wing talk radio ,Fox News and Bill Orielly fans,etc.),have been slamming and bashing Jackson for years.Some have been attacking and putting him down, since before his run for president.

He (and Al Sharpton)is often used as a reference of something/someone bad,dis-honorable, or un-desirable.

As is their right,just like the "braintrusts" that bashed Jackson in this thread,or claim that being associated with Jackson, is a smear or put down.

This is not a sophisticated bunch.It`s because they despise Jackson,that they automatically assume that a comment like Clinton`s, is a put down.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I heard Sean Hannity on Faux News last night,contend that Clinton`s comment that Obama`s campaign was a "fairytale",was a racial slur.Yup,that`s what he said (but got beat up over it).
As I said,this is not a very sophisticated crowd.
This may shed some light on things.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

CHICAGO (AP) - The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Monday contested the assertion in a new Martin Luther King Jr. biography that he had a bitter split with the slain civil rights leader.

Speaking to reporters after a breakfast held by his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition to commemorate King's birthday, Jackson denied that King accused him of trying to use the movement to promote himself. That claim was made in historian Taylor Branch's book "At Canaan's Edge: America in the King Years, 1965-68," which was released last week.

Asked about the passage in question, Jackson said King and his colleagues argued frequently about strategy but always came to a consensus afterward.
"We often had challenging meetings," he said. "And that was what we did. But in the end we left there together."

"Branch describes King storming out of a meeting with Jackson and other aides in a "fury" days before his death. The author quotes King as saying angrily to Jackson, "If you want to carve out your own niche in society, go ahead. But for God's sake, leave me out!"

Jackson said a heated argument did take place a few days before King's 1968 assassination. But as evidence there was no break between them, he distributed excerpts from the famous "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech that King delivered in Memphis on the eve of his death, mentioning Jackson by name.

After urging striking sanitation workers to boycott several corporations over their hiring policies, King said in that speech: "As Jesse Jackson has said, up to now, only the garbage men have been feeling pain. Now we must redistribute the pain."

Jackson said on Monday that those comments came "five minutes after the meeting Branch refers to. And if what he said is true, this wouldn't be here. That paragraph speaks for itself."

He said he holds Branch in "high regard" but was never interviewed for the book.
