Imagine you won the lottery or came into millions of dollars and really had no reason to ever care about financial matters again. How would that impact your search for submissive partners? Would you require them to pay half of the travel expenses, for example? What would your expectations be with regards to gifts? Would you require them to buy their own toys? Would you see more submissives, more often, by traveling when and how you wanted and arranging your own lodging? Would you be willing to pay every single expense? Akasha

i'd buy more books, buy better toys, and get better educated. beyond that i might not change much of anything. well maybe get my own place so i could play whenever i want and not only when my roommie isn't home.

Paying every single expense or having an army of cabana boys wouldn't enter my mind; I would focus more on charity and making an impact for good through my money. Okay, admittedly I'd get some more expensive handbags, I'd travel more, and the maid would own some Murray & Vern fetishwear, but other than that I think things would stay about the same.

I often say that if I won the lottery, I wouldn't change a thing about my life. Actually - the only thing I would change is to buy a home so that my kids don't worry about moving anymore and have a sense of stability. That said, if I was filthy rich, I would buy a place where I could push a button and the walls would turn, and my lovely home would become a dungeon. Then I would spin real fast,and wind up in my thigh high boots - and you could call me Wonder Domme [sm=biggrin.gif]

Interesting discussion! If I were filthy rich I doubt I would change much in the way I view the M./s relationships I desire. I am always less concerned with the amount of income and more concerned with the fact that delivering that paycheck to Me is part of their submission. Not a sharing of expense. I guess I look at it a little differently. I am sure I would be less concerned with the necessary living expenses of an expanded household if I had the money, and thus would probably be putting most, if not all, of that submitted money away. I would not keep a boy. I do not think it healthy, for them or for Me. Other than having the home of My dreams with all the accoutrements I prefer, traveling more and in better style, shopping more often, etc., I would be busy with building the alternative FemDom organization I would like to see, expanding My ability in My area of volunteerism as well as building My own real estate empire. That has always been My biggest dream, and perhaps some day I will get it without hitting a lottery! Can't do that too easily since I seldom, if ever, buy a ticket!

This one is kind of fun. My submissive buys one lottery ticket a week for this very notion. Absolutely, My life would change. For starters, I would put together a dungeon. That in itself would be a big deal to Me, since it is very rare that I play at home. I'd put in all of the things I've always wanted. I would quit My job, since it always seems to be getting in the way of the events that I would like to attend. I'd travel more. I'd certainly attend more leather events and see what is happening in different places. I'd visit some folks that I have always wanted to meet. On the home front, I would have the poly house that I have always wanted, where everyone is able to sleep under the same roof every night. I wouldn't care about the cost splitting. Not for an established person, anyway. That's what you do in a family. Take care of each other. My thanks to the OP, for letting Me dream a little this evening.

Endless money! So I could travel to my out of towners, which would be grand! A nice studio space, to hold Femdom parties in. Lots more money to my charities, of course. Travelling to leather events, which I could do since I would not be WORKING when the fun stuff is happening.... Pursue my creative activities full time. My life wouldn't change much, D/s wise, except that my opportunties to meet would broaden, since I would have time and resources to travel. I wouldn't be a keeper of anyone, financially, unless they were my spouse and couldn't work. Retirement for me and my circle of "sisters" would be set, so we could have our compound wherever we liked! Yep, nothing like a good fantasy!

Mmm... I'd get a nice house for my pet and I to share... not too big, but in a decent neighborhood, with a garden I can grow flowers and vegetables in...and a great big playroom with lots of toys. My boy could stay home and be a househusband and have the option to persue his career in theatre like he wants to, while I finish med school and open a private practice as a therapist (instead of my current plan of working for the state) and drop my fees or even work for free so that more people could afford the help they need. I'd buy myself a viola and a piano and go back to studying music, since I've always regretted having to quit... maybe even get back into dance... then I'd have a sexy dancer's body again, and the lift in confidence might make a difference in how I dom. As far as BDSM goes, I don't think it would affect much. I don't take tributes as it is, and my boy enjoys being able to take me out now and then. But I could pay for us to travel, and buy more toys for us to share. The only reason my boy currently spends more money is because he has more money than I do.

In of kink things, I'd still require a part-time job or part-time involvement in the charity sector. I could get hit by a car or in this scenario the IRS could come knocking so everyone needs to be able to take care of him/herself. The biggest change it would have is that it would everyone more time to find what they want to do and more space in which to do it.

You are just you. There is nothing wrong with this, and it might be entirely misleading to think that excessive wealth would change this. When a woman understands when she is not dominant or when she is undominant --- this is a strength, not a weakness. Such awareness is empowering. To me humility and a clear, honest view of self (as opposed to an idealized version of self) are a strong character traits. Subs need to appreciate this in their Dommes as well.

my mom and i play this game all the time, "after we took care of our families' needs what would we do?" we've never hit the lottery, but it's fun to dream. she'd buy a farm and move out to the sticks. not for me. i'd build us our dream house, complete with a fully equipped garage out back for hubby's classic cars. he'd have his porsche he's been dreaming of. the boys would get the toys they all want, atv's and dirt bikes and we'd have the land for them to play on. for myself, a fully equipped dungeon with handicapped access, big enough for parties with friends. a sauna, a hot tub, a fully handicapped accessible home. i'd love to build my church a new handicapped accessible entrance and a new pantry/kitchen for their food distribution and community service projects. just a whole bunch of improvements to the whole place. they serve the inner city population there with the food bank and such, it would be great to be able to help in a big way.
